The Alpha's Cursed Princess

ELENA’S POV “But why can’t I go outside like other wolves father?” I asked my father as I watched some wolves my age running around and playing outside through my bedroom window “Because you are a princess and it’s not safe for a princess outside,” my father said “But I want to go outside I promise I will be the very careful father I will be safe” I begged “No Elena, you are safer in here and you can’t go outside,” my father said and then left me to continue envying the little wolves that were playing outside. “But I want to make friends” I mumbled after he banged the door. At seven years old, I had never really been outside. I had only been outside when the moon was closer to us and when it was a fiery red. My father said that the day was a special day for our pack because it was the day I was born and they believed that the moon turned red because the moon goddess could be celebrating my birth with us. I never understood how it could have been a special day if it was the day that my mother died so I never had much to celebrate on the day except for the fact that I got to go outside with my father escorting me. Some of the workers around the palace said her death was caused by me, they said I killed her and they hated me for it, I could see the way they looked at me with fear in their eyes whenever they had to come and clean my room. When I asked my father if this was the truth he denied it and said my mother died because she had not been feeling well for a long time. I knew my father wasn’t honest with me about a lot of things but his sister, my aunt Sarah, told me most things. She told me that when my mother was pregnant with me she helped my father plan an attack on some witches and she got cursed in the process. She said my mother was cursed to have a blazing child and that the child would kill her on the day she was born. That blazing child was me, and I was cursed with the phoenix spirit, anyone who touched me or had any skin-to-skin contact with me died, I was cursed to be a loner. My wolf was silenced and I was to grow up wolfless in a wolf world. My father’s kingdom would be left without a ruler because the only heir he had was a girl who had no wolf. I could never stop blaming myself for the death of my mother and I wished she was alive so that she could explain a lot of things that I didn’t understand. If only my father would allow me to have one friend, then I wouldn’t feel so lonely in this palace. Sometimes I just needed someone to play with but I only had my toys to play with. My father warned me that I could never trust anyone with my secret because if anyone knew what I was I would get killed. He also told me that I was never even allowed to touch anyone because my touch was fatal to everyone. I could kill someone with just one touch and that made me a monster. I was worse than a witch. 11 YEARS LATER Elena's POV I had been cooped up in the palace for a few months now, almost a year to be exact. For some reason, we hadn’t seen the fire moon for some months and that meant that I couldn’t go outside so I had decided to sneak out as any teenager in my years would normally opt to do. I understood my situation a lot better than I did when I was younger. The reason I had to be outside during the fire moon was that it was the day that my phoenix side would show up and I would turn into a large phoenix bird with flames for wings. My father said that I had to be outdoors so that I couldn’t burn down our entire village. “Elena come and see this” Sharon my cousin and best friend called out to me. After 2 years of begging to be allowed to make a friend outside of the palace doors my aunt Sarah finally found her mate and they decided to have sweet Sharon. I was only 2 years older than her but we understood each other so much it was like we were the same age. My father had agreed he visited that aunt Sarah stayed with us in the palace even though she had found her mate and was to get her place, of course,e was good news to me because it meant I had a new friend. I ran up to my window and saw that there was already a moon outside although it was still daytime. “I don’t believe it...the day has finally come and I get to go outside,” I said with joy as I ran out of my room to my father in his office. I was ecstatic because this year I wouldn't have to sneak out. “Father, did you see?” I asked him and he stood up and hugged me “Yes I did my princess,” he said “I finally get to go outside, I can’t wait to feel the air in my face I can’t wait to feel the grass on my feet,” I said “Honey you know all that won’t be possible because you won’t be in your human form, we can’t risk anyone seeing you or recognizing you,” he said instantly bursting my bubble, how was anyone going to recognize me if they had never seen me outside? “Can I go early this year dad, I promise I will stay out of sight“ I begged I wanted to experience being outside in my human form this year “Fine, but it’s going to be a one-time thing because we can’t gamble like that,” he said and I nodded as I skipped happily and left his office. I was finally going to experience something normal. NEIL’S POV “Neil today is the day, after so many months we are finally getting to experience the fire moon again” Chris my best friend said as he walked into my room “where are we going to celebrate tonight?” he asked as he threw himself on my bed. Spending time together on the day of the fireman was like a tradition that we had created ever since we were little boys but this year I just felt like doing something different on my own. “I don’t know where you are going but I have my sight on a special place that I found,” I told him, I wanted to be alone today. I wanted to experience this day alone with no noise from Christ because I wanted to use it as a time to think about finding my mate and nothing else. I had reached an age where not having a mate weighed heavily on me and unlike Chris who had already found his mate so what bothered me never bothered him. And for that, I felt like he was a little selfish. “And where is that my prince?” he asked “None of your f*****g business,” I said. At 20, I still hadn’t found my mate and I longed for that companionship, I longed to have that one wolf that I knew I could always count on and trust. Chris had already found his mate but I was still stuck and that made me feel like such a loser. But something told me that tonight was about to change all that, I was going to allow my wolf to lead me to where he wanted to be. I and my wolf had always fought for control for a long time but I decided when it came to finding my mate, I would let him take the lead. I just hoped that he would lead me right to her tonight.
