Artemis's POV
"Wow, this is amazing" I said in astonishment as I ran out to the balcony.
This planet was just like another version of Earth, but untouched by human. It was simply beautiful. We had a wooden house here with two floors. In front of the house was a lake which was surrounded by forests. Far far away, the line of mountains were rising, as the sun shining behind it. Birds and thousand of animals were in here. You could occasionally hear some of the birds singing the the mid afternoon. It was so peaceful that I could stay there and enjoying it forever. After everything, this was the first time I actually felt relax.
"Yeah it's beautiful" Percy's voice came from behind. "But falling over the balcony would be suck."
I just smiled and kept looking at the place. Percy walked up as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I laid back on him as he held me close.
"I wish we could be like this forever" I whispered to him.
"We will" he said. "When the war is over, we will move here."
"Really?" I turned back to him.
"Of course" he told me. "Everything for you, Stubborn Girl"
I grinned again and laid back on him.
"You know" I said. "Sometimes, I actually forgot about all of this. I didn't feel anything that could interest me anymore. Maybe because of the wars, maybe because I'm just tired."
He sighed and put his chin on my shoulder. He kept shaking me while enjoying the view.
"We both are..." he said back.
He didn't say anymore. Like he was thinking about something, something that he was afraid of. I could feel it through his voice. He just kept looking at the mountains. I turned back and laid my hands on his chest.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I-I don't know" he stuttered. "I just have a feeling. If we return to the battlefield, something back is going to happen. I just feel it and I'm scared. I'm scared that this would be my last fight. Like I can't make it out somehow."
"I can believe you say that" I raised my voice at him. He stepped back. I cupped his cheeks and stared deep into his eyes. "We've been through too much Percy. There's nothing that we haven't faced. Even dead. But I still keep a thought in mind. That everything is gonna be fine, and we will get through it. No matter what, I'm always here with you. And you will get through this war."
He just kept his silence. He didn't say and anything more. His eyes looked down. I forced him to look up to my eyes.
"If there's anything I've been living for the last 2000 years is this." I told him. "We're both desire this Percy. We both want to have a peaceful life. You have taught me many things Perce. Most importantly is to know what is love. If there's an after life for us. I promise I'll find you again, and fall in love with you again."
"Yeah you're right" he chuckled. "Maybe I'm just a little stressed out"
"Then let's make it disappear" I whispered as I slowly leaned up and finally our lips touched.
It was just perfect whenever I kissed him. He alway kissed me with passion and love. He held me like I was the most vulnerable thing, that I could break just by a little hard touch. If there's anything I could ask for in this life is him, and this moment. Where there's only the two of us. Kissing under the sun. And have a happy ever after.
Night comes
"Artemis are you done?" Percy voiced came out from the dinning room.
"Just wait a moment" I called back.
Apparently i wanted to be a dutiful wife, so I set out to cook for the night. Don't judge me, I really hate cooking. But since we've married, it's just my job to do so. Usually Percy was the one, but I insisted him to night.
I cleaned the sink and set a plate on the table.
'Boom!' Oh s**t. The pan just suddenly blew up as food flew out everywhere. I tried to gather them back and the time for the chicken just 'ding'. I opened the oven and pulled the tray out. But I forgot to put on the kitchen gloves that the heat was to much and I dropped the tray of roasted chicken on the floor.
"Artemis, are you alright in there?" Percy asked.
"Ye-yeah I'm fine" I yelled.
Crap, what do I do. I tried to clean the mess I've made. I put the chicken on the plate. Clean the floor. But then I just dropped a plate and it broke in many pieces.
"Ok that's not ok" Percy said. "I'm going in"
I heard him walk closer. I can't let him to see me like this. Especially now. I was so confident in front of him a moment ago. He would laugh his head off if he saw me like this. I quickly ran to the door and stood in front of him. Percy startled when I jut suddenly jumped out.
"What's going on in there?" He frowned. "I heard an explosion, then some metallic thing dropped. Lastly was something broken"
"Uh it's just nothing." I lied, tried to block his vision from looking into the kitchen behind me. "I nearly done. Just wait for me out there ok?"
"But-" he before he could say anything more. I grabbed him the shirt and started pushy him out.
"Wait here darling" I said, letting him sit on the chair. "I'm about to show you one of the best dinner you've ever had."
Percy just chuckled and he gave me a grin. "I'm looking into it."
I smiled and kissed his cheek before running back into the kitchen. I looked down at the mess I've made. I'm a really messed up wife. I tried to clean everything. Then decorated the plates. Finally, it's done.
Percy's POV
I was curious what Artemis was doing in there. I really wanted to jump up in excitement from the surprise of her. This was actually the first time she entered the kitchen. I usually did the cooking part. Being a son of Hestia and all.
"Dinner is hereee" Artemis's said as she laid the delicious plate on roasted chicken on the table.
"Wow" my eyes wide opened. "If you say this is your first time. I would doubt it."
Artemis's chuckled as she sat on the chair opposite of me.
"And for the wine?" She said in a seductive voice as she picked up the wine bottle and poured some into my cup.
This was actually the first time, ever since we got married that we have a romantic dinner like this. The light of the room was turned of, replaced by the light of candles. We sat by the window as the wind blew slowly through it and the light from the moon shined down. It was just simply beautiful.
"Go on" Artemis told me. "Try out the food."
I smiled at her and started to try it. The piece of roasts chicken came into my mouth. At that moment, I've realised that no one's cooking is bad. It's just that they can't cook. To be honest, that was the worst I've ever tasted. I could taste some dust on the chicken. I don't know how it looked kinda attractive, but the taste was terrible. Artemis was looking at me expectedly. I tried to swallow it and grinned at her.
"How is it?" She asked.
"It's..." I was about to speak the truth, but realised it. "Uh...good. Really good."
I knew she would be sad if I said it wasn't. This was her first time though. And I didn't want her to lose hope. She kept looking at me and I gave her a question look.
"Try more" she said. "There's still a lot."
"Ye-yeah." I smiled. I stared down at the chicken. I swallow hard, not wanting to taste that again. I suddenly heard a sob.
I looked up from the plate and saw Artemis sitting there, looking at her laps.
"I know it's bad." she said. "I knew it would be. I can't cook Perce. I'm so terrible"
I got up from my seat and immediately rushed to her. I held her cheeks.
"Hey you're not" I told her. "You're the most amazing person I've ever met in my life. It doesn't matter if your cooking skills are not good. I still love you because you're the most beautiful and amazing wife"
"Really?" She asked.
"Yeah" I said. "Beside the food isn't that bad. Well uh maybe taste a bit down. Maybe a bit too salty or I could feel some dirt there. Other than that, it's fine. Well almost..."
I laughed awkwardly at her while scratching my head. I couldn't say lie. I just don't know why. Maybe because I'm a Seaweed Brain? Maybe part of it? Doesn't matter. At least it could cheer Artemis up for a bit.
"Thank you for the true complement" she said sarcastically.
I bowed and spoke in an British accent. "Your welcome Milady"
Artemis just laughed at that.
"Oh Seaweed Brain" she said. "Your accent even worse than my food."
With that we both say back and enjoy the night.
Next is lemon. Be ready.
