Chapter Six - Something doesn't feel right

1245 Words
Samuel’s P.O.V I woke and as soon as I opened my eyes I groaned when the light hit my eyes. “Hungover handsome?” I hear Nicola giggle I looked seeing I was spooning her, she never seemed to be minding though. It felt strange for me though cause I have not shared a bed with anyone else in a long time except well Abby. I quickly pulled away from her, laying on my back. “Yes very, why did you let me drink as much?” I groaned “Me? You are a grown ass man, I shouldn’t need to tell you.” She laughed “Still your fault…” I laughed prodding her side “I never held you down and shoved it down your throat buddy.” She said prodding me back, “Don’t do that I am delicate this morning.” I said turning my head to pout at her. “Aww poor you can’t handle your booze.” She smirked I flipped her off, growling at her but that just made her laugh louder. This is how the day was gonna be wasn’t it? Her messing with me because I was rough? “Stop being mean…I thought you were a nice person, now I am thinking not so much.” I said petting my lip at her. “Someone is cranky when they are hungover.” She laughed I just rolled my eyes, pulling the covers over my face. I could hear her laughing at me again. I have had enough of her laughing at me…it was payback. I rolled over onto my stomach, groaning so she thought I was still feeling sorry for myself. I had other plans. Before she knew what was happening I reached in and started tickling her. “OH MY GOD STOP…I HATE BEING TICKLED.” She squealed squirming on the bed Why would she tell me that? That was just gonna make me wanna do it more. I chuckled, continuing to tickle her sides and stomach, her squealing soon turning into giggling. “Samuel…stop.” She said between giggles trying to pull away from me. She never got far cause I placed myself on top of her, pinning her against the bed and continued my torture on her. “Not until you apologise for being mean to be and picking on me cause I am hungover.” I said “Never! It is too much fun…” She said smugly “Well then I am not stopping.” I smirked I started tickling everywhere I could reach, well everywhere that was appropriate for me to touch. She started squealing again, laughing loudly and trying to push me off her. She failed though, I was too strong for her to push away from her. I did eventually stop after ten minutes, Nicola below me struggling to breathe with all the noise she was making. “I am done now…” I chuckled “Good cause was beginning to struggle to breathe.” She laughed trying to blow her hair away from her eyes, getting frustrated when it wouldn’t move. I laughed, reaching in and pushing it away from her eyes, my fingers brushing against her cheek when I did. I don’t know what happened but suddenly there was a silence between us, my body still on top of hers and our eyes met…neither of us making a single sound or movement. “You really have the most beautiful blue eyes and freckles.” I whispered out Nicola blushed, giving me a soft smile. I never meant for those words to come out but I couldn’t stop myself. It was undeniable she was beautiful. I had no clue what was going on right now, we were getting lost in a little moment. I decided it was a good idea to pull away and put an end to whatever was happening. “Sorry…” I said rolling off her, getting out of the bed and heading to the bathroom. I shut the door, locking it, leaning against and sighing to myself. What the hell was that? I don’t know but whatever it was it was confusing me. I never needed the bathroom, was a way to escape from whatever was happening in the moment. I splashed some cold water on my face, running my fingers through my hair. I sighed flushing the plug and headed back through. Nicola was sitting up, running her fingers through her red hair. She looked up, giving me a small smile which I returned. “I am gonna get some breakfast you want anything?” She said “Um…just coffee for the moment.” I said There was a sudden awkwardness in the room. “OK.” She said pulling herself out of the bed and disappearing out of the room. I really hope this awkwardness goes away and soon. I took a moment before following her through. She was busying herself, getting coffee and making herself some bacon which did smell really good. “That smells really good…” I laughed “You want some…” She giggled looking over her shoulder at me “Yes please…I will get the coffee, do you want one?” I asked “Yes please…” She said getting back to making it. I headed over, making us both a coffee and sitting down at the breakfast bar. The awkwardness seemed to be gone, that was something. “Breakfast is served.” She smiled placing a plate in front of me. There was bacon, eggs and fried bread on the plate. I thought she was only making bacon. “This will help your hangover.” She said “Thank you…” I said gratefully. She sat across from me, the both of us tucking into breakfast in a comfortable silence. She was right, it was making me feel better for the moment but don’t know if that will last. Once we were done she took the plates, rising them and placing them in the dish washer, making us both another coffee before coming back to join me. “Hey are we OK? After um…this morning?” I asked “Yes of course we are fine.” She smiled “I just wanted to make sure.” I said nervously “We are, now stop worrying.” She laughed I nodded, chuckling. I am glad that was sorted cause to be honest I think I needed her right now as a friend. I can only imagine where I would be if I never met her the first night I was here. “I will try…” I laughed “Good now drink your coffee and I will give you a lift back to your hotel so you can get showered and changed then we can occupy ourselves.” She smiled “First though I am gonna grab a quick shower and get changed.” She added She headed off, going to get herself ready. I watched after her, sighing to myself. I know she said we are fine but me personally? Something never felt right…I never felt right and I had to work out why and what it was.
