The ground came back beneath my feet, glass doors and windows appeared out of the gloom in front of me. It was cold. We were outside and our breath puffed out in clouds. The sidewalk was shoveled, and although it was cold out, it wasn't quite as windy here, because we were in town. “Thank you, Rick!” I gasped, slipping my hand from his. Ty had already let go and took a few steps forward, looking around. “Just keep walking like we came from the parking, lot, kids,” Rick said, and that's what we did. We strode through the doors into the lobby. The warmth of the place surrounded me. Its modern and hospital-like interior gave way to high ceilings, and sterile-looking white walls.
