"You're going to have to call that Michael guy when we get back, tell him you can't see him." Devin told me, and I glared at her. "Who is Michael?" Valentino asked right away, and I sighed. "This guy she was seeing when she graduated. He's going to be a pediatrician. He was really nice." A said and I sighed and looked out the window. "He is really nice." I stated and clenched my jaw tightly. "And he took you out on a date?" Valentino asked me, and I nodded. "Why did you go out with him when you know you have a mate out there somewhere?" He asked me, and I just sighed. "You do not own me Valentino, okay? You didn't own me before we met again either. I had free reign, and I still do! You can't just pry into my life and demand to know things okay? If you wanted to know things you would have asked about my parents, or my hobbies, or anything else about whether or not I went out with a guy." I said and just stood up before walking towards the bathroom. "How are you this bad with women?" I heard Devin ask him and I just closed and locked the door. "I never dated anyone... I never flirted, and I sure as hell never slept with anyone." He started getting louder and I was sure that was for my benefit and I tried to yank the door open but had to unlock it before pulling to open and when I did that I hit my face, the side of my nose to exact. "Oh, he just ruined everything more than ever." Aurora whispered, and I fumed. "What the hell are you insinuating? Huh? That I am not a virgin? That I just went around and f****d every guy that I dated. That I dated and f****d a lot? What are you saying Valentino? Because no matter what happens after you answer this question you will never be my mate." I stated and pushed at his chest again and again before he was forced to lean on the side of the plane. "Your nose is bleeding." He said and reached for my face, but I slapped his hand away. "I, Ivory Ames, reject you, Valentino Clarke, as my mate." I said through clenched teeth before turning and walking towards the bathroom again. I grabbed towels and got them wet before wiping the drips that traveled down my chin and over my mouth. "I got you." Devin said moving in and pushing me to sit on the covered toilet. "You shouldn't have done that." She whispered cleaning up the places that I had sort of been struggling while holding a dry one to my nose to stop the bleeding. "I don't care." I stated and looked away. "I remember when you used to get horrible nose bleeds when you were little. Mom would lay you upside down on the couch, brush your hair and dad would sing you Blue Moon." Devin said softly and threw away the other thing before tipping my chin back even farther. "And you and A would join in singing very badly." I laughed but then choked lightly. "Then after a moment of just letting the bleeding slow down before telling you to blow out the boogers and then a couple more seconds of bleeding and it would all stop." She said, and I smiled, and she picked up my hand and placed it on the napkin on my nose. "Here. Blow." She told me, and I pulled the other from it and blew as hard as I could just like I used to do. "I won't take back the rejection. He has basically rejected me, ignored me, and basically said I was a slut. f**k him, and his stupid wolf who think they own me." I said after everything was good with my nose. "You didn't see him after you walked away." She whispered lightly, and I sighed. "Plus, you are meant to be with him... it has to count for something." She said, and I groaned before leaning my head back as I sat back on the toilet when she blocked my way of getting out. "Could you just tell his heart was broken? How about was he already crying so hard snot was coming out of his nose? Oh wait, don't tell me, he looked like he could have died on the spot." I snapped sardonically, and she sighed this time. "No, but he had no color left in his face and he sat down and put his head in his hands." She told me, and I just blinked like it meant nothing to me. "You started all of this... the whole Michael thing could have waited until we were in private." I told her, and she sighed and looked away. "True, but it just popped into my mind and slipped out. I wasn't even thinking about what Tino would do or say about it." She said and gave me a small apologetic smile. "I am going to go sit with Aurora and maybe do one of those puzzles she loves so much now. I think Dean got her addicted to them." I said and stood up, rubbing Devin's belly as we walked out. I saw Valentino pick his head up and look at me, but I didn't acknowledge him at all. Just sat down next to my sister and pulled the other side of her notebook over onto my lap and started finding words. No one say anything for the next half hour and I didn't mind. But the continuous staring and movements out the corner of my eye were starting to annoy me. "Are you guys doing anything tomorrow?" Devin asked A and I when we got in the van cab and I just thought about it. "I have to call into the hospital and tell them that I am open for scheduling." I said and turned on my phone. "Well since Dean isn't going to be home for two days, I was thinking of just you know... baking." She said, and I blinked before turning around and looking at her. "What?" I asked, and she laughed. "Dean really loves red velvet and I thoug-" "That's enough." I said and laughed. "Make me a cupcake though." I said, and she giggled. "Well you two can do those things after we go see the ultra sound for the baby." Devin told us, and I smiled back at her in the mirror. I had taken the front seat and Devin and Mark were just behind me and Valentino in the way back. My sisters were on either side of Mark in the first three available seats and it made it so much easier to ignore him. "I can't wait to sleep in my own bed." I murmured and sighed when I stretched. It was nearly 8 now and I was tired. Of what I didn't know. Once we pulled up to our house Mark said he would pay and I just ran up the stairs and pushed over our little pig statue and picked up the key. "Didn't I ask you guys to get rid of that?" Mark asked when he was coming up and noticed that they weren't my regular keys. "Yeah yeah, would you want to wait 20 minutes for one of us to find our key rings?" I asked back at him and he sighed and waved me forward. I walked in and shivered. we had made sure all the heating and lights were off and I rushed down to the cellar flipping on all the breakers using my phone as a light and then rushing back up. I always hated the cellar. "Hey, you hungry? I was thinking Chinese from your favorite place." A shouted after me and I turned and gave her a narrowed look. "Yeah, just let me get different shoes on and I will walk with you." I told her before rushing up the stairs. I had only taken one pair of shoes and one pair of slippers with me and I was not starting to hate my converse. I told them both off easily and then ran to get my boots with the fur inside and sighed when I heard the heater come on. The house would be nice and warm when we got back. I pulled on my grey beanie, my pea coat and then my white scarf and trotted down stairs. "You ready? Because you look ready." A teased. "I am warm." I said and rolled my eyes. She was wearing a huge hoodie and a beanie too, so it wasn't that much of a difference. "Let's go. You get everyone's order?" "Yeah, even your mates. You remember what happened when Devin tried to reject Mark... don't do this to him." She told me, and I sighed and looked around before seeing a huge pink puff walking down the street and my mind went automatically to this girl in my class, Cassidy, and she always talked about anything and everything. "Wait." I grabbed her and pulled her back, so we were by a dumpster and hidden from her. I heard her cackle and I just knew it was her and I sighed and put my head on the wall next to me. "What are we waiting for?" "Do you remember when I was in class and I always came home with a headache because I had a girl named Cassidy as my par-" "And she never shut up? Yeah." "That," I said and pointed at the pick coat, "is her. I know her laugh and I was sure that it was the same jacket that she had." I looked around before pulling her back out with me and she laughed. "You know that just because you pushed me away doesn't mean that you are going to get away with what you are doing right?" She asked me, and I sighed and linked our arms together. "I know, but can we just drop it for a couple of days?" I asked, and she gave me a narrowed look before nodding and clicking her teeth. "Mark was going to kill him when he said that though-" "Aurora." I said and stopped walking to give her a hard look. "Sorry." She said holding up her hands before pressing the button, so we could cross the street. "Why would he kill him?" I asked after a moment when we started walking across the street. "Mark is like the older brother I always wanted you know? But I think he seriously already thinks of us as his new little sisters. He wants to protect us from any kind of pain because he couldn't stop Raven from dying. He just wants to be there for us you know?" She told me, and I smiled slightly before looking around the streets and shivering when a car sped past us. We got into the Chinese Palace and walked right up to order before taking a table with our two sodas and then waiting. I was on my phone playing some little game that I had installed a long time ago while I was sure A was texting her mate. "Your order ready!" I heard a loud older man shout and I looked up and smiled at the guy that was looking at us. "Thank you." I said and waved as I took it and made it closer to the door. "It's cold!" I shivered, and she laughed before pulling me in closer and soon we were walking up the steps to our house and she tripped over the top step making me laugh and call her a loser before she lunged for me. I pushed open the door with a slight scream and laugh as I rushed in. "Enough kids be good." I heard Devin as I got into the kitchen and ran around it as A chased me. "She called me names!" A shouted and I giggled and set the food down before rushing up the stairs. "You tripped." I called back and laughed and moved around Valentino as I saw him coming out of the bathroom. "What's going on?" He asked loudly, and I just got to my room and reached for my door and just as it was about to close A started pushing on it, so it wouldn't be able to. "Stop it!" I screeched and laughed again before letting it open with a big swing and this time she fell in and I ran around her before dashing out of the room and down the stairs. "You're dead!" I heard A shout and I ran before hiding in one room no one else was in and then covering my mouth so my breathing couldn't be heard. "Where did you go?" She shouted, and I heard her getting closer, so I took off to the other door before hiding around the bend. Bumping right Valentino and he gave me a small smile. He pushed me behind him quickly and walked into the other room. "How big is this house?" He asked her and sighed and looked both sides of the open doorway and A made a sound that made me laugh silently and then stomp off. "This isn't funny anymore. You know that Devin won't let any of us eat until you come out." She called into the house and I hid when she was walking past the door to the room I was in. "Call a truce and I'll come out." I went back to ignoring Valentino's presence as I walked past him. "Fine... truce!" Aurora shouted, and I walked out and laughed when she looked confused. "Let's eat. I have a pregnant mate to feed." I heard Mark and just walked towards the kitchen and sat down in my regular seat, right next to Aurora who kept bumping me. Valentino sat down on my other side and seemed to space away some and looked a little weird when we all talked and joked around the table.
