Lee and I were each having a soda in the break room after four o’clock when his cell phone buzzed. He checked it and a look of pleased surprise crossed his face. “Wei’s here.” He looked up at me with anticipation, blissfully unaware that I’d overheard his conversation earlier in the week and would rather not be in his brother’s company. “He wants to know if it’s okay for him to see where I work.” No, it’s not okay. Wei probably wants to make sure I’m not making a move on his precious sibling. “Sure it’s okay,” I lied, cringing inside. “He’s your family after all. Finish your soda and go let Carly know so she can okay it with security.” I shifted in my seat and fidgeted with my tie. Lee looked at me. “You okay, John?” “Don’t worry about me.
