Sweet Betrayal

Chapter 7

Dakota walked with Steve beside her towards the seaside restaurant as they did not want to attract unnecessary limelight. She had shoulder-length hair and a perfect figure, as well as stunning features, which attracted everyone’s attention.

Everyone around them especially men watched her with great interest as she passed by them and sat on the table facing the sea.

It was quite a windy night so Dakota chose to wear a floral dress that touched her knees and which made her look way younger than her age.

At the far end corner, there was a VIP box where the three men were seated facing each other and they were surrounded by three beautiful. They were all trying to please them in every way. It was not new for those two men as women would always throw themselves at them. They were none other than Luca Marques and Mark Brand the famous billionaires of Palermo

. But they were accompanied by Russo Valentino who had just flown from Italy to meet them He was really uncomfortable with the women around him but did not say anything as he knew his friends were rich and all these things were a mere luxury for them. They had known each other since high school and had become sworn brothers. Luca was the sole heir of Marquis Enterprise and was the topmost businessman in Palermo. Mark was also from an elite family, which had many business set-ups in Palermo. 

And Russo,  was an Italian by birth but his mother was from Palermo, so after his father’s death, they had moved back to Palermo, when he was ten years old. His dad was a doctor so even he wanted to become one, so after completing his high school, he had gone to Italy for his MBBS and had worked with a very reputed hospital. He had just returned to Palermo to join the hospital owned by the Marquis Enterprise. His mother has not been keeping well recently so he made a decision to return home. 

“Russo weren’t you dating an Italian chick back there in Italy, what happened to her?” Mark asked curiously as he held one of the women in his arms. She was tickling him continuously and he was enjoying it immensely.

Russo looked embarrassed and said. “Well, since I was moving back we broke up and mom has not been keeping well recently, so I couldn’t possibly promise her that I would go back to Italy. So we ended it.”

“Oh, poor boy are you heartbroken?” Come to me I will give you some comfort.” One of the escorts held his hand and looked at him suggestively.

Russo gulped his saliva and said nervously. “No, I am good.”

Looking at his expression Mark and Luca started laughing.

Russo was really embarrassed.

“I need to use the restroom, please excuse me.” He said and fled away trying to save his face.

But as he came out of the box he bumped into someone.

"Hey, watch where you are walking sir," Dakota said irritatedly and walked away from him.

"I am sorry Miss, I was not watching my step," Russo said apologetically as he watched her back.

The women turned around and smiled at him. "That's alright, but please watch your steps in the future." After that, She hurried towards the washroom.

Russo was stunned for some time and did not react, as she was really beautiful and for a moment he thought he had seen her somewhere.

He kept standing there and tried to remember her but he failed miserably. Just then Luca came out of the box and was shocked at his friend standing all alone in a daze. 

"Russo are you alright? Weren't you going to the washroom?" 

Russo was pulled out of his musings and he realized that he had not gone to the washroom.

"Well," he looked towards the washroom and said. " I was going but I  bumped into a very beautiful girl accidentally and somehow felt that I have seen her somewhere and was trying to recall her."

Luca laughed as he was amused at his naïve friend, he could very well imagine that his friend was bowled out by the girl's beauty but was unable to accept it.

"Where did she go? Why didn't you chase her?"  He teased her.

'Stop it, I am telling you the truth and she just went inside the washroom. Oh......" He said excitedly. "Here she comes."
