/Ember’s POV/
I think the best gift mom’s given me this year is providing me the reason to be around Daisy who would do anything to avoid me. She kept reminding me to reject her and I kept shifting that task to her. I knew she couldn’t bring herself to reject me. While I hate taking advantage of her kind heart, it was the only way I could get close to her without hurting her and because I’ve been hovering around her lately, those pesky flies wanting to corner and ambush her were reluctant. I’ll catch them stalking us on several occasions but a look from me and they’ll cower to their rat hole like the cowards they are, well…that was until the fever started. Lauren noticed first…
