Chapter 18: The prison

Damien: Everything was going to well during of time questioning the warriors. The first i***t confessed to everything and even mention his idiotic father's involvement. I can’t say that I’m surprised those too would try to flight for control of the pack. They had been giving my father problems for months before his death, trying to separate themself from his an Alpha. Even plotting to have rouges enter the borders to they could win him over protecting the pack. Father saw right through everything. Had some of his members beaten and throw out of the pack. He couldn’t find the proof to do that same to former Alpha and his son, but he knew ‌they had to be involved. Now, he confessed to trying to force his Luna to leave the pack. And I could end them now, without worrying about the consequence. I would just have to talk about it with Ember. I know she doesn’t want anyone to die, but they have been a thorn in the side of this pack for a long time. The pack would be better off without them, and my family would be safer. If understood that, she might agree to exile or even killing them. I doubt she would want to see some die. I would want her to be there. It is her decision, however; the crimes are against her. Then came Bradon. Bradon was the son of the feral Alpha. His sister died years ago, murdered by rogues. They never found the body, but everyone in the pack sensed her death. And the scene had far too much blood for her to be alive. Though it’s unknown where the rouge took her remains, the idea that she would have lived is impossible. And ‌that she could be my Luna was more so. It is true that her mother found my Luna badly beaten and near death, her memories of her life completely lost. But she was found far away from their pack. She also wasn’t a werewolf. Reports of the Alpha’s daughter clearly showed the girl was a werewolf. Ember simple couldn’t be their dead daughter. So Bradon’s lies only pissed me off. He was clearing playing some kind of game claiming a relationship with my wife. Maybe he thinks if everyone believes to be the brother of the Luna that he can get a higher position in the pack. Maybe he wants to use that position to take control over his old position. Whatever he is plotting, I wouldn’t fall for it. I will not put my family into the position. Bradon and his father would need to be dealt with. I can’t have this getting out to the rest of the pack. All hell would break out. The old pack members would demand I look into the calm and his father could, in a feral state, come after my mate. I needed to keep him here for the time being so he couldn’t get others in the pack involved. Ember and I would need to talk about this. I know hearing what he said would upset her. If I had known, she would have never come with me. She would have stayed safe at home with the pups and her mothers. I would have never let those words enter her eyes. She would be full of worry now, questioning whether or not what this man was saying was true. She would want to speak with him and get to the truth. I’m afraid I can’t let that happen. Bradon would only upset her more with his lies. She is expecting my pups and I can’t allow her to become too stressed. It wouldn’t be healthy for either of them. We kept questioning the other warriors and got more information from the fourth warrior. We knew the truth. “Alpha James ordered us to find your Luna and run her out of the pack. I didn’t want any part in it, but they threatened to kill my mate. They threatened to kill all our families. Please Alpha, you have to do something! That man will stop at nothing to get his pack back. He said if it didn’t work to kill your mate and your children,” the warrior cried, his body trembling. This would not end any other way now. That Alpha and his son had to die. They were really planning on killing my mate. The warrior, a young man of twenty, was originally from the same pack. His mate came from Blood Moon. I had known her since she was a little girl. The Alpha’s threat to kill my pack member would never stand. I looked at Arden one last time, seeing the fear in his eyes. The same fear I had for my mate and my children. “Jutus,” I called, “Order the death of Alpha James and his i***t son, public beheading, for tomorrow morning. I will do it myself,” “Yes, Alpha,” Jutus responds, reaching for his phone. “Warrior Arden, you are pardon from punishment. Don’t speak about this. The pack will know soon enough. I expect you to move into the packhouse as soon as possible with your mate. I promoted you to Gamma and from now you will be the Luna’s personally bodyguard,” I stated looking down at the crying warrior. He couldn’t believe my words. He was just a warrior, a guard on the southern border. Now he was the personal bodyguard of the Luna. “Thank you Alpha,” He respond baring his neck in act of submission. I smiled. This boy knew his place. Unlike the others. He was the first to be fully truthful in all of this and, therefore, they rewarded him for his actions. “Come for dinner tonight and bring your mate,” I ordered before heading for the door. I knew I needed to talk to Ember. My wolf was going crazy in my mind. He was pissed and nothing more than the comforting touch of his mate. The screams of Bradon echoed through the halls as I headed for the office. I didn’t listen. I wasn’t giving him another moment of thought. His lies wouldn’t reach my mind. I will not fall for his bullshit. Walking down the metal halls, my boots echoed on the ground. She would hear me coming. I smiled seeing her face, as she waited outside to office. The frown on her face disappearing the moment she saw me. She ran to me, jumped into my arms, holding close to her. I inhaled her scent, calming my wolf just a little. Tears fell from her eyes and kissed her cheek, massing her back in a soothing gesture. “He is lying. Shh, don’t think about it,” I whispered into her ear. “They were planning on killing us,” she cried, to my surprise. She wasn’t even thinking of Bradon and his idiotic lies. She was worried about her safety and our children's safety. “Don’t worry, my love, they will die. No one will hurt you,” I whispered back. “They should die slowly for even thinking about harming my children. And they threatened our pack members. Those monsters, beheading too good for them,” Ember cried. She was crying out of fear but of anger. She was pissed. So pissed, in fact, her body couldn’t even react. “I will kill them anyway you wish. Tell me,” I whispered, knowing whatever she would say it would be brutal. You don’t mess with my mate or her children. “Rip them limb from limb. I want them to draw and quartered, torture them both all night long. Whip them with a 100 lashes. Making them suffer,” she ordered, and I would obey. “Anything for you, my love,” I whispered back kissing her cheek, kissing her neck, doing my best to soothe her. I didn’t want to become too stressed. “So brutal,” Jutus muttered from behind. I didn’t turn to look, but I knew the new Gamma was with him. “Don’t threaten her children and she wouldn’t be like this. My mate is the sweetness person in the world, but when it comes to our children, she will not think twice about making you suffer,” I stated, touching, pulling her closer. Her small body becoming lost in mine. Not wanting to waste another moment here, I headed for the door, carrying my mate to the car with the other two behind us. I got into the car, still holding her. She was unwilling to let go. Our Beta drove with the Gamma in the front seat next to him. Once we reached the packhouse, we would give the order out. Those who hurt my mate would receive justice. I held her close as she fell asleep in my arms. Inhaling her scent as we headed home. I knew she would need time with our kids after this. She wouldn’t want them out of her sight. I held on to this time together.
