Tish POV
I don't take my eyes off the spider in the tub. It is slowly crawling back up the wall of the shower, and I shiver. It is the largest, hairiest spider I have ever seen.
I keep one arm wrapped around my chest, and I point frantically to the spider. The twins finally close their mouths and look at where I am pointing.
Kai laughs loudly and coaxes the spider into his hand. "It is just a little guy."
He moves his cupped hands closer to me, and I scream. "Get that thing out of here now!"
Kai pushes his bottom lip out in a little pout as he heads for the door with the spider in his hands. Kaden is still staring at my naked body. I roll my head back and groan loudly.
"Out," I snap at him.
Kaden pouts in an identical way and follows his brother out the door. I scramble to shut the door behind them and find there is no lock. Quickly, I get in the shower and pull the curtain closed. The more barriers I put between the twins and myself, the better I feel.
I turn on the hot water, and it is freezing as it pours on me. I stifle any type of noise from coming from my mouth as I dance in the water as it warms up. I know the twins are probably waiting for me on the other side of the door.
The door creaks open, and I pull back enough of the curtain to see who it is. Kai is trying to sneak back into the bathroom, and he looks like a deer caught in the headlights when he sees me looking at him.
"What are you doing?" I snap at him.
"Looking for more spiders?" Kai replies.
"Is that a question?" I smile.
"I was actually looking for your bra," he clears his throat. "We need to know what size."
I tuck my head back behind the shower curtain and try to ignore him. Cool air hits my back as I rinse the dirt from my hair. "Don't you dare get in this shower," I warn him.
The cold air disappears, and I hear him huff with disappointment. I peek back out of the shower and realize that he isn't going to leave.
"32 D," I shout at him.
Kai pumps his fist in the air and darts from the bathroom. Once the door is shut, I finish my shower. I wash every inch of my body twice and shave all the places that have gotten overgrown. When I turn off the water, I feel like a new woman.
Wrapping a towel around my chest, I wipe the steam from the mirror. I look much more like myself, but I am much thinner than I once was, and I have dark circles under my eyes. I frown as I tug and pull at my skin, trying to bring some color back into it.
After brushing my teeth and my hair, I c***k the bathroom door open and expect to be bombarded by the twins, but they aren't there. I feel a little disappointed. They have been the only welcoming people since Alpha Kieran walked into my life and turned it upside down.
I sit down on the couch, and a puff of dust floats up around me, but I am too tired to care. I curl myself into a small ball, and I slowly drift off to sleep.
I am dreaming about black twin wolves stalking me through the woods. I am running through the trees, glancing over my shoulders, but the wolves never give up their chase. Their bright blue eyes glow in the dim light, giving them the appearance of demons. The sound of their paws hitting the ground is getting closer and closer to me. I try to hide behind a tree to catch my breath. I close my eyes tightly, and the sound of growls fills the air around me.
I jolt awake and see two pairs of blue eyes looking down at me. I try to scream, but Kaden puts his hand over my mouth. My scream is muffled by his hand, and it only makes me scream louder. I am naked and alone. No one will help me. I am going to be r***d and left for dead, and I will never get to apologize to Mae.
Tears drip down my cheeks as I come to the conclusion that my life is ending. Neither one of the twins stop looking at me for a moment, and I cannot stop crying.
"Tish," Kaden says sweetly. "I am going to take my hand off your mouth, and I don't want you to scream, okay?"
I nod my head up and down, and Kaden removes his hand from my mouth. I tighten the towel around me and whimper.
"Please," I whisper. "Don't kill me. You can do whatever you want with me. Just please let me live. I have someone I have to apologize to."
Kaden backs away from me, and Kai does too. They give each other an odd look. Their eyes turn a weird shade of black, and they look back at me.
"We don't want to hurt you," Kaden assures me.
"Yeah," Kai chirps. "You are…"
Kaden elbows him in the gut, and he bends over, gasping for air. "You all have to stop doing that," Kai hisses at his brother.
"Then stop saying stupid s**t," Kaden replies.
I sit up on the couch and notice there are bags all over the cabin. "What is all this?" I ask, gesturing to the bags.
"We went shopping," Kai says proudly.
"For who?" I ask in disbelief.
"For you," Kaden responds. "You didn't have anything, and now you have all the things."
Kai is behind him, waving a pink Victoria's Secret bag. There is a huge grin on his face. "Fashion show?"
"Absolutely not," I snap. "I am not that girl anymore."
"Anymore?" Kaden asks interested.
Kai sits on the floor and crosses his legs underneath him. "What are we talking about? Just how freaky did you used to be?"
"I am not telling you anything about my past," I hiss at them. "I am turning over a new leaf. I refuse to cause problems at another pack. Go find your mate thingies."
I clamp my hand over my mouth, releasing that I have said too much.
Kaden studies me carefully before running his fingers down the side of my face. "How about we have some fun before you turn over a new leaf."
