Unknown POV The 6,666th full moon had just been sighted, signifying the presence of the final male omega. He had just presented and now the race to get to him had officially begun. Witches,Vampires, the Wolves and every paranormal being knowing about the famous prophecy. Hunters from each group having been dispensed already covering ground hoping to be the first to posses him. Malek, one of the witches in our pack, had already performed a spell that would pull him into the forest. We were a pack that had been formed years ago whose main purpose was to serve as protectors of the chosen ones. We had been chosen by one of the deities, the Moon Goddess, and had been gifted immortality, our purpose being to ensure the chosen ones fulfilled their purpose in the prophecy. We had previously failed with the last two previous Omegas and now this was going to be our last chance. Tensions were high in the pack, everyone angsty and moving around preparing their weapons as we knew war would be waging soon and this time everyone was more than prepared. This was the final chance before Wolves were completely wiped out from existence. The tale of male omegas was one that spun for ages. Initially, during creation the Moon Goddess, the deity in charge of Wolves, had created both male and female omegas, likewise for Beta and Alphas. One thing that stood out from the species was that Male Omegas gave birth to her blessed children who were wolves that had purple fur.The traits were only inherited by their male omega offspring. In the end, the unique quality of the wolves caused Male Omegas to be the most sought after mates of choice by Alphas and Betas alike, many being kidnapped by powerful Alphas to bear their pups, others being enslaved, giving birth to multiple pups until they birthed a male omega. Male Omega slave trade became so rampant that other races of paranormal beings began taking part in it. This overtime caused the population of male omegas to reduce, coupled with the fact that other designation wolves were killing them and were filled with jealousy. The council of deities advised the Moon Goddess to do away with the Wolves as a whole, as they had become a population that had lacked empathy killing and mistreating their own with no remorse. The enslaving and killing male omegas reached a point that male Omega newborns were killed by their parents as they believed that it was a small mercy compared to the life they were destined for if they lived to see the light of day. To save the Wolf population from the wrath of the paranormal deities, the Moon Goddess ceased the ability of any male omegas to be conceived. The council of deities giving her an ultimatum of only three chances for the werewolf world to redeem itself before they led their nations to a war that would completely destroy and eliminate them. The Moon Goddess loved her creations and, despite the tainted past that had bled into the present, she still believed in their redemption. That's where we came in. Each of us had been chosen from a different race, our deities appointing us to aid the chosen one after the Moon Goddess had chosen us. Most of us having been prominent warriors in our own race.Taught to learn to tolerate each other and work together to achieve a common goal, and that was to save the Werewolf World. We were bound by an oath that made us not betray our cause despite their different worlds standing to gain from the demise of the Wolves. I was granted the privilege of being the pack leader as this mission meant the most to me. Our two previous attempts had been unsuccessful, the first Omega having been killed the minute he presented, the other captured by hunters before we could get to them. The entirety of the Wolf World being wiped out was in its own way beneficial to other species who would capture wolves either for their blood, occupy their land, some would be food, humans capturing them for science experiments and worst of all some would be enslaved during the war and later killed. The Wolves stood no chance and yet their whole existence depended on the one person they believed they needed to eliminate, a belief that no one knew it source. We had predicted it would take Max and Luke a week to make it through the forest to our location. We needed him to come to us as making ourselves known to him before would alter the course of fate. That did not mean we would not try to take matters into our own hands, the luring spell being one of the things in our arsenal. He just needed to make it to us safe. Making contact with him would unlock most of our dormant powers as we were all working on limited abilities.I prayed that the Moon Goddess would watch over him and help him as much as she was allowed to. MOON GODDESS POV The atmosphere had completely shifted,it was finally time. Gazing at the small globe infront of me, I could see Max walking shoulders hanged low a dark cloud of sadness hanging above him. He wondered why exactly I had bestowed him with such a heavy burden to bear, but he was the only one and Ruby who I believed could accomplish this task. Luke and Mary were their wolves who I had reincanted through centuries, a gift that I had granted them after the numerous male omegas and their children they had saved and, when they had been discovered, had been burnt alive as punishment. Their pure hearts at a time when the Werewolf world had been consumed with so much inhumanity, making them worth the gift. The ultumatum by the council of deities followed by the two consecutive failures prompted me to use my most treasured pair. One would wonder how with all the power that a god could possess, how did the two failed previous attempts come about. My hands were tied. I could interfere very little, a decision that had been passed by the council. If I interfered, a shift would occur that would alert everyone. We were powerful, but the power had a limit. Oraculus, the deity of the Witches and Wizards I had discovered, had cast a spell that had caused the wolf population at the time that hated Male Omegas to believe that they were cursed. He planted the idea that the unjustified killings had been justified and that belief had been carried through generations. The spell had been so powerful that undoing it was impossible. He was an opportunist. Witches being among those who would gain the most from the eradication of wolves. Wolf blood was a key ingredient in increasing their strength and power. Centuries of using synthetic blood having weakened them, they were now at par with Vampires who could no longer feed on human blood. Politics on the paranormal deity council still existed. The more powerful your race, the more power you held. Dragons,Vampires,Witches and Werewolves ranked at the top others like Fairies, Orges and Merefolk ranked at the bottom. I knew of his foul play and so had some of the members, hence it had been decided that a pack consisting of a member of my choosing from each of the races would be formed, bound by an oath that none could betray, to help the chosen Omega that was set to aid in the redemption of the Wolf world. I had watched as Werecats and Werebears had been completely wiped out and their deities reduced to mere gods who had no power. I did not want the same for myself. A god or goddess' power was primarily channeled from their creation and its demise meant their demise too. When I had swapped Luke's and Mary's designations I had taken a gamble. Erasing Mary's memory was key as that would be one of the reasons she would persistently seek her mate and the truth behind her connection to Luke and finally get to unveil the truth. god's had power but we could never bend a person's free will. Ruby rejecting Max was beyond my control but had been a blessing in disguise. Had Ruby accepted Max as her mate and agreed to mate him instantly due to their circumstances, their lives would have been pretty short-lived as her acceptance of him would have signed their death sentence.Little did they know that the rejection had saved both their lives. My main worry being the probability that Max or Ruby would get their second mate. True mates had the opportunity of getting a substitute mate which was what most wolves got, as true mates were rare. For true mates,if your body and wolf could fight the true mate bond and form a secondary bond with your substitute mate then you would live. This was not something that most wolves knew. Most believed that if you lost your true mate you died a slow death but I was not that cruel, there was an alternative but I needed the true bonds honored as they were a gift from me. One of them would probably meet their substitute mate and if they didn't get back to each other in time fate would play its role in their love lives.I needed them together,if they chose different mates, then the prophecy would never be fulfilled as I couldn't tamper with a bond. The clock was ticking. This was the beginning to an end,an end that no one was certain of.
