Behind her, Elle screamed.  “What?” she asked. “What’s out there?”  Lizzie groaned and said, “It’s only Deon.”  Going over to the door, she opened it to see him standing on the porch. An enormous grin covered his face as he stood with his hands in the pockets of his jacket.  “What are you doing, lurking outside of my house?” she demanded, an angry look on her face. “You scared us half to death!”  His smile dimmed, and he said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I was just coming over to see how you were. I saw you looking out of the window and thought you’d seen me.”  Lizzie shook her head and remembered the noise she’d heard.  “So, you weren’t out there making noises?” she asked, her anger turning to worry.  He shook his head, looking puzzled.  “Get in here then,” she told h
