Silvia wandered through the palace gardens, the scent of blooming flowers filling the air around her. As she turned a corner, she caught sight of the queen standing beneath the shade of a towering oak tree, her expression solemn as she was staring at a man who was standing in front of her with his head hung low. Curiosity piqued, Silvia approached quietly, her footsteps muffled by the soft grass beneath her feet. She couldn't help but notice the tension in the air, the sense of unease that seemed to hang like a dark cloud over the queen's usually serene countenance. Suddenly the man looked in her direction and before Silvia could move, he turned and left in a hurry. They queen also followed where he glanced and found Silvia who having no choice, walked and greeted the queen. "Your Majesty," Silvia said softly, her voice breaking the silence. The queen turned to face her, a faint smile touching her lips. "Silvia," she greeted, her voice warm but tinged with sadness. "What brings you to the gardens on such a beautiful day?" Silvia hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to broach the subject that weighed heavily on her mind. "I apologize for disturbing you like this." "No worries, my dear. He is just a useless slave of the king." The queen's smile faltered slightly, a shadow passing over her features before she quickly composed herself. But Silvia wasn't convinced. She could see the pain in the queen's eyes, the haunted look that spoke of secrets long buried and wounds that had never fully healed. "I should not disturb you but...... is he your mate?" The queen's eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of fear crossing her features before she quickly masked it behind a mask of composure. "You shouldn't speak of such things," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. But Silvia pressed on, her heart aching for the queen's plight. "You don't have to hide from me, Your Majesty," she said gently. "I want to help you, if you'll let me." The queen's expression softened, a tear glistening in the corner of her eye. "You are kind, Silvia," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "But you cannot help me. My fate was sealed long ago, by forces far beyond my control just like yours." As they sat on a bench beneath the sprawling branches of the oak tree, the queen's voice trembled slightly as she began to recount her tale. "My father was an alpha and known for his courage and bravery. I was eighteen when he came to my pack and we knew what we were to each other. I was so happy to find my mate even though he was a lycan. He was the sweetest person I ever met and I wanted to marry him as soon as possible. It was ten years ago when the queen died. My father came here to give his condolences and the king saw me." She paused and stared in space while Silvia could feel the change in her expressions. It changed from being in pain to something she could not understand. "I was nineteen and I became a mother to two teenagers." She glanced at Silvia who forgot to breathe as she realized what the queen meant. She was only twenty nine right now Silvia listened intently, her heart aching for the queen's plight. "And your mate?" she asked softly. The queen's expression grew pained, her hands trembling in her lap. "My mate," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "He was a loyal servant of the king, bound by duty and honor to serve him above all else. Even when his heart cried out in protest, he could do nothing to defy his king." Silvia reached out and gently squeezed the queen's hand, offering what little comfort she could. "You have suffered so much," she murmured, her voice filled with compassion. The queen nodded, a tear slipping down her cheek. "I have borne this burden in silence, for the sake of my mate," she admitted, her voice choked with emotion. "But you could have rejected this marriage. Why..... You should have taken a stand for yourself." The queen said nothing but a chuckle escaped her mouth. Silvia's heart swelled with empathy, her resolve to help the queen strengthening with each passing moment. "You are not alone, Your Majesty," she vowed, her voice filled with determination. "Together, we will find a way to free you from this unjust fate." And as they sat together in the peaceful solitude of the garden, surrounded by the beauty of nature, Silvia knew that she had found a kindred spirit in the queen, a woman of strength and resilience who had endured more than anyone should ever have to bear. And with that realization, she vowed to do everything in her power to help her find the freedom and happiness she so desperately deserved. "You think I could not run from this prison? You think I am here because I am weak." Silvia felt the fire in the tone of the queen and as she looked up, she could feel something strange in the air. Silvia watched in awe as the queen's demeanor shifted, her words carrying a weight of determination and resolve that sent a shiver down her spine. The queen's eyes blazed with an inner fire as she spoke, her voice steady and unwavering despite the turmoil that raged within her. "He killed my father and he wanted to kill my brother too," she declared, her words ringing out like a solemn vow. "I was weak, but I agreed to this marriage." Silvia's heart ached at the pain in the queen's voice, the burden of grief and regret that she had carried for so long. And yet, there was a strength in her words, a fierce determination to right the wrongs that had been done to her. As the queen stood up, her posture regal and dignified, Silvia couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over her. Here was a woman who had suffered unimaginable loss and betrayal, and yet she refused to be broken by it. "Ten years I bore everything," the queen continued, her voice filled with a quiet intensity. "But let me tell you one thing..." Silvia held her breath, anticipation coursing through her veins as she waited for the queen's next words. A mysterious smile graced the queen's lips, sending a shiver down Silvia's spine. "When a woman takes revenge," she said, her voice low and menacing, "even the devil sits back and takes notes." ....
