Max is driving down the interstate like we are in the Indy 500. We are whizzing past cars in a blur while I scan ahead for a black Hummer or Santino’s white SUV.
Finally, I spot them up ahead. To my utter shock, Star is hanging out of the window gun, aiming. Then, “Pow,” she blows Santino’s tire out.
His SUV swerves several times rapidly, crosses the median, and flips on its top, skidding. Max follows them across the interstate and stops.
Alex jumps out of the driver’s side of the Hummer, gun drawn. Star follows suit on the passenger side, gun raised. She yells, “Get Alice!” to him, and she circles the driver's side of Santino’s SUV.
Max and I jump out and are running towards them. As Star approaches his door, I hear another loud crack, and I see Star’s body jerk. f**
