Liume and its uses

1204 Words
"Yes Drake, it is quite a resourceful thing to get back to the topic," Rico said while flipping to the next page of the book showing the other different types of liume. Cough!!! Clearing his throat, as it helped him relax his voice before he continued to speak to him. "Water liume is the second most common liume learned. It's a bit harder than air liume due to the fact you have to be in water and breathe in the liume in the water. It is also the easiest to use when fighting. It specializes in healing, farming and defense. It is also very hard to defeat water liumers especially. This is also mastered by your species umends, but they are also called humans because it sounds easier, and I agree with them. Also, I don't need to describe how we look, since you just have to see your reflection in the mirror or water. Next, we have Fire liume is quite hard to practise. The breathing in the liume in fire leads to many people suffocating during the process, while removing oxygen from your lungs in the process to produce almost eternal flames in the individual, as you completely master the tolerance to heat-related objects and creatures, specialize in short, mid-range attacks and cooking. It is also the hardest to fight with but easy to win against." 'Wow, that is just painful, I wanted to learn that after fire, but sacrificing oxygen that is used for respiration, that sucks the risk isn't even worth it.' He sighed at the information on fire liume. He really wanted to learn it, but when hearing how they did it sounded suicidal. "So, the next one is earth, right? Please let this be normal." He pleaded on his knees while Rico watched the scene in his face with an unexplained expression which was unable to identify the situation in his face. Not being a fan of the scene, he grabbed Drake by the collar of his yellow shirt with a firm yet steady grip, not wanting to hurt him, and placed him back on his chair, ignoring the glare that Drake sent his way and carried on after clearing his throat for the fourth or fifth time, he wasn't really counting it either, so it was pure guess work at hand. "Now we have the last but least Earth liume is the most complicated yet easiest to understand liume relating to the fact, it involves punching the earth while breathing in the liume and concentrating on it without losing focus, to be able to learn this, you must be strong in both mind and body which helps keeping you psychically and mentally fit to practice it, used for defense and creation. Then we have the occupations of people who do liume and frist. We call them liumers and fristers, but the general term for them is mages, plus every child who turns six years old will join the glathon international academy to study swordsmanship or liume and frist and any other subjects like anatomy, biography, equations and history. Any other questions or should I say complaints from you?" He sat down waiting for Drake, who was deep in thought, muttering while his bangs covered his eyes, casting a shadow over his face, he spoke up to say "So I punch the ground just to be able to control the earth, ain't I just breaking my bones just to control the earth? It reminds me of something vague about a girl punching the earth to increase her strength and learn how to heal, that I am just going to stick with learning water, but I might just use the basics of earth liume to increase my strength," Drake replied, missing the panicked and slightly wary look from Rico, but it quickly vanished as he looked back at the older man. Removing his glasses as he closes his book, Christa had come to the duo, changing her previous outfit to a red impromptu, independent full wear worn bright skirt and a white grubby sweat soaked shirt, wearing a white ankle socks and brown light sandals. Holding a sharp two-edged blade, with a long grip to accommodate the use of two hands, in her holster positioned at her back, grabbing a soft juicy green apple. "Ric, today is Thursday, meaning that we have to speak with the king to discuss the matters of the price of liume jewels, leading to the decrease of the practice of liume, so start getting ready to go to Nanos City. Oh, by the way, we need more supplies for the commoners and orphans." She paused, as Rico looked at Drake, who was still muttering about which liume was more dangerous for him. Flick. The blonde-haired woman flicked the little boy's head softly, making him snap out of it quickly. "Stop muttering Drake, listen to me." Gaining his attention and apologizing to her as he felt guilty, she forgave him while rubbing his soft silky hair. Rico stood up, giving his own part of affection to the boy who was still sulking about the scolding he got from Christa, putting his bag filling it with food supplies, daggers and water and a thick brown-covered book with golden imprinted words which seemed to say {Forms of Interrogation} by Joshua the IV. "Ric, what kind of book is that?" He asked in a quiet tone while facing the ground, still feeling guilty for making Christa mad at him. A sly smirk appeared on Rico's face while Christa's mood started to dull, as she moved away quickly from Rico and stood next to Drake, practically shielding him from Rico. "All I can tell you is that it's wonderful to me." Rico said with a lot of enthusiasm, which was quite rare to see from a person like him. Being intrigued, Drake wanted to read it, but he had a clear idea that he would not have liked it much, from how Christa reacted to the book. He wanted to go to the garden and see them go to the capital, stopping himself from talking about the book. Noticing his silence, they wondered what was wrong but shook the feeling of waving them goodbye as they went on their journey. 'What an adorable kid. Can't believe this is what Rico used to be like and that so-called grandma of theirs was definitely losing a lot of screws in her head,' she thought to herself. "Hey brat, you had better stay safe, and I saw how you looked at the garden, taking care of the roses especially. I really like them, nothing better happened to them, or else I might just use one of those techniques in this book," he said with a grin, while Christa widened her eyes and Drake had a blank face telling them he wasn't moved by his words and closed the door like that, ignoring Rico's words. Christa was annoyed and started dragging Rico by the ears and started their journey to the capital of Glath to visit the king of the kingdom, while Drake was left alone for the first time, as he simply stared at the window, his eyes losing sight of them.
