Inlathons and Jonmers

"So, you're the vigilante Jade, an ex-bounty hunter for the Runo Guild."

"A long time has passed, joker, since I last saw you."

She was caught off guard, when Erica had held her throat with her hands, squeezing them tightly and slowly reducing her oxygen supply. Her face got paler, as each second passed, until Jake placed his gloved hands on Erica's shoulder. She flinched at first, but knowing it was Jake, calmed her nerves.

She was instantly removing her hands from Jade's throat. Jade held her throat with reflexes, trying to stabilize her breathing, looking up to see her partner with Jake, Erica and Lucia, who had been released from her chains by Victor, who she was still afraid of, but it was reasonable for her to be afraid of him. She was drinking water from the canned bottle which Jake was willing to give her.

Jade started to cackle as her body started to melt. The four of them moved away in shock and caution. Witnessing such a scene, her melted body entered the sand, making it hard for them to follow her, leaving a bold written message on the sand.

'The seven kingdoms shall fall in the hands of us, inlathons.'

"We let her get away."

"What was she exactly?"

"An inlathon."

Jake and Erica looked back at Victor, who blurted his words out loudly, enough for the duo to hear what he said, eagerly waiting for more answers from him, sighing out of relief, his callous fingers ran through his indigo long packed hair, which seemed to be packed to the left side of his head, a few strands placed at the back of his pointed ears and bringing out a cigar from his backside pocket, lighting it on fire with liume element, while taking a breather and releasing smoke from his mouth.

"An inlathon is the third class of the Glathony race. The most found in Shason is the lower breed of lava monsters is the Unlathons, the lower race of Glathon, the second class are called Selathons, found in the outskirts of Nanos, but were wiped out by Blars and the Inlathons are the rarest of them, due to actually having intelligence making them, the most dangerous and unpredictable.

Each species in Glathon has three stages. The perfect term for them would be variations, but ever since frist was introduced and founded by Olivia Stane, the seven races haven't gone through the stages ever since then, but unfortunately for the Glathony race, they still have to go through those stages to progress in survival.

It is also another reason why lava monsters have been killing the other species for over fifty years without remorse. They may not have a brain other, but they do certainly have a heart and that heart has told them, the seven species must be eliminated, and they have been gaining the intelligence of humans by consuming or manipulating them, so in order words, Jade was the commander of the attack that happened in Shason on any more questions before I finish talking?".

There was absolute silence, the only sound heard was of the birds, as they flew through the sky, enjoying the sun and freedom, only to be consumed by Jonmer, a sand monster specie, only found in the Moria desert, located in the center, the point where all the Umend Kingdoms meet.

Jonmers are snake-like creatures. Instead of scales, they possess spikes on their skins to protect and attack their prey and foes. Its head is more heavily guarded than the rest of the body with skeleton armor due to its exoskeleton. This species is hard to fight and capture because of its size, but they do have a weak spot, located at the top of their heads. It's the one place not heavily guarded on the head. It does have bat wings for cases like that.

Steve noticed the predator and weighed softly to Erica, warning her about the upcoming danger in the sky, but it was too late to warn her. The Jonmer noticed their presence and immediately attacked the group. It entered the sand, shaking the ground. The Jonmer's action gave enough time for Erica and Jake to prepare their weapons even if there was a huge shaking underground. When the Jonmer came up to the surface, Erica used this opportunity to attack the winged creature.

Erica's sword shined in a silver light, blinding the creature. She leaped unto the Jonmer, using its spears as a propeller as she swung her body around them with her upper body strength while it moved its body to shake her off, which into it failed miserably, as she went higher, reaching a particular spear and jumped from it. The Jonmer thought it was the perfect time to kill her, using their wings only for them to be cut off by her sword, still shining while attempting to distract the Jonmer for her to plan her attack.

Finally, reaching the top of the monster's head, she removed her sword from its sheath, flipping in midair as she avoided the jonmer's tail, closing her ears and focusing on her breathing, opening her eyes and whispered quietly whispering, she and the beast could hear the words she spoke.

" Soul Risme: Soul burn."

A huge white blinding beam, as the others shielded their eyes from the bright light and the jonmer was in flames, but not just ordinary flames. These flames were not burning its body, but its soul was suffering as it lounged in and out of the sand to put out the flames but failed in its attempt until the beast stopped moving, and the flames dispersed completely, leaving not a trance on its body.

Erica had landed on the floor, as she breathed out, lying down on the hot sand. It hurt her a bit, but she was too tired to care about how bad it was for her skin. She stood right back up after the draining attack.

Soul Burn is a special move. It doesn't destroy the opponent's body, but it does burn their souls completely, but the user does suffer from risme exhaustion and needs to rest after such an attack, it's also an B Rank spell and currently used by Erica Gallagher.

"Are you feeling any better, Lady Erica?"

"Why thank you, Victor, it's nice to see at least one boy I know has manners."

Erica noticed Jake placing his fingers on his lips, telling her to keep quiet since Lucia was sleeping. She glared at him, but she reluctantly agreed and kept her mouth shut. Approaching the carcass of the jonmer, she used her sword to rip it apart, finding luime jewels while ignoring the bottomless pit of rotten skeletons, she stored them in her storage bag to be able to travel and easily carry objects, she was covered in blood, when she was done scavenging its body and being covered in blood and simply using the handkerchief Jake gave her and placing the bag at Steve's back, Victor had already excused himself and headed back to Cirano, having important things to attend to and leaving the trio to travel back to Glath.
