Vivian opened her mouth slightly and took a deep breath. She crawled on her knees to the bedside. Looking at the painful expression on Vivian's mother's face, she felt her throat tighten.
Why... Why did her parents die, not her?
What on earth did she do wrong? Did Max want to ruin her family?
Vivian wanted to cry, but she couldn't. She touched her mother's face and called her softly over and over again
"Mom, I'm here. Open your eyes and look at me."
"I know you don't like Max. I won't marry him anymore. Please say something."
But Vivian's mother closed her eyes tightly and didn't respond.
Her body couldn't stay in the ward, so the hospital arranged people to clean it up. But Vivian held her mother tightly. She wouldn't let her go even if her finger was scratched and bleeding.
The hospital didn't dare to do anything recklessly, so they had to let Vivian's mother's body stay in the ward.
Vivian held mother and didn't eat, drink or sleep for three days in a row. She kept telling herself that her mother was just asleep.
In the hot weather, Vivian's mother's corpse was rotten, and the stench was complained to her family by many patients.
The hospital had no choice but to contact Max and ask him to persuade Vivian.
"What is she doing?" Max rushed to the hospital with a cold face. When he entered the ward, he was almost shocked by the scene in front of him.
Vivian held the decayed corpse in her arms. Her hair was disheveled and her face was dirty. Her thin body looked like a ghost.
Somehow, his heart ached as if it was pricked by a needle.
Didn't he already give her money? Why was her mother still... Dead?
Max didn't have time to think about it. He covered his nose and walked to Vivian, trying to drag her away. But even if she didn't eat or drink for a few days, she still held Vivian's mother tightly and couldn't get rid of her.
The stinky smell invaded him. His stomach was uncomfortable.
"Vivian, let go of your brother if you don't want him to die!" Max growled, but Vivian didn't respond at all, as if she had lost her soul.
He suddenly felt a little flustered.
Max called in several bodyguards. Regardless of Vivian's struggle and resistance, he pulled her away and carried the body of Vivian's mother away.
"Give it back to me! Give my mother back to me!" Vivian was pinned to the ground by two bodyguards, but she was still scratching the ground with her bloody fingers, trying to chase after them.
Seeing her like this, Max felt like his heart was gripped by an invisible hand. He frowned and walked forward. He lowered his voice and said coldly, "look clearly. She is dead!"
"No, my mother is not dead. She is just asleep." Vivian murmured in a low voice, her eyes empty, and struggled to climb forward.
Max grabbed her arm and pulled her up. "Is it interesting for you to deceive yourself like this? She's dead, and her body is rotten..."
"Shut up! Stop talking!" Hatred filled Vivian's numb eyes. She turned her head and grabbed his throat. He killed her mother. How could he say that?!
She was so strong that she really wanted to kill him.
This thought made Max depressed inexplicably. He shook her off with strength and said in disgust, "Vivian, don't make trouble out of nothing!"
"Haha, haha..." Vivian fell to the ground. Her body hurt, but she couldn't help laughing.
He made her parents and her family go bankrupt. Now he said she was making trouble out of nothing?
Did he do it on purpose?!
