Tires screeched as Day’s Hummer came to a stop in front of the burning house. “Stay here,” he ordered Ethan as he climbed from the vehicle.
Morgan’s truck pulled up behind Day’s and Angelo jumped from the driver’s side, then met Day on the front lawn. “Should we try the back? See if there’s a clear way in?” Angelo asked.
“No,” Day said as he shook his head. “We need to wait for the guys to get here with the
equipment or we risk injury.”
“But what if someone is still inside, Day? The neighbors said they saw Candice go in right before it blew,” Angelo said anxiously.
