CHAPTER 2
"Damn it, wake up!" Morgan yelled as he shook Angelo.
Angelo's head rapidly moved from side to side as he screamed, "Please stop! Please! I promise I won't tell!"
"Angelo, for f**k’s sake, wake up!" Morgan screamed in desperation as he did the one thing his dragon was not happy with, but it was all Morgan could think to do―he slapped Angelo, hard.
A blood curdling, primal scream had Morgan's dragon ready to shift and defend his little man and then Angelo’s silver grey eyes flew open. The look of terror matched his screams as Morgan quickly brought him into his arms.
Morgan held Angelo tight against his bare chest, whispering over and over, "You're alright, baby. I'm here for you. Everything is going to be okay."
Angelo gradually calmed himself, but tears slid from his eyes onto Morgan's shoulders, sliding down his chest.
Just as he thought Angelo was going to be okay, the man jerked back and snapped, "I have to get to the shelter."
Morgan was overwhelmed with emotion. He was worried for his mate, confused by the man's
actions now, and frustrated because it was almost as if Angelo didn't even know he was there.
Then it hit him ― Angelo was in the middle of a vision.
Angelo barely threw on some pants and his shoes, without socks, as he rushed for the front door.
Morgan quickly followed, unsure as to what to do. He had heard you never wake a sleepwalker.
He didn't know why, and right now it didn't matter, because he was not sleepwalking, he was in a vision. "What the f**k am I supposed to do?"
Morgan had been flying. His dragon kept going closer and closer to Angelo's home. He didn't like that their mate wasn't with them and Morgan felt the same way. He could tell something was wrong and Morgan was determined to get to the bottom of it. That's when he heard the screams.
Morgan had about come unglued as he landed in the back yard. Not scenting an intruder, Morgan broke the door down and rushed to his screaming and crying mate.
Finn had often warned him that shifting naked was going to bite him in the ass one day. Dragons had the ability to shift fully clothed, but there was just something about feeling the air on his skin that held a certain allure for Morgan, so he usually removed his clothing before each shift.
However, tonight the fact that Morgan shifted naked, pissed him off. He just didn't know if it was because of the inconvenience of it all, now, when his mate needed him, or if it was because that meant Finn was right.
Grabbing Angelo's phone and a pair of sweats that barely fit over his ass and came to his calves, Morgan rapidly dialed Day's number. A groggy, "This better be good."
"Day, I need to talk to Ethan, now!" Morgan snapped as he rushed to follow Angelo. The man was practically running.
"Morgan, what's wrong?" Day asked anxiously.
Morgan rushed to keep up with Angelo, hissing, "Please, just get Ethan!"
"Morgan, what's wrong?" Ethan asked quickly.
"I was flying over Angelo's home and heard screaming."
"Oh my God, is Angelo okay?" Ethan rushed to ask.
Morgan damn near ran into a parked car as Angelo took a sharp left. "I think he is in the middle of a vision. He is racing down the streets. I don't know what to do. Do I wake him or ―"
"No! Just follow him. If he's in a vision, you won't be able to wake him anyway. Do you have any idea where he's going?" Ethan asked as a shuffling sound could be heard in the background.
When Angelo took another left, Morgan said, "Ethan, I think he’s going to the shelter."
"The shelter? What for?" Ethan gasped.
Morgan could hear Daytona in the background, "Tell Morgan we'll meet them there."
"I heard him and I'd appreciate you coming. I'll call if he changes course." Morgan hung up as he finally was able to catch up to Angelo.
Angelo was gnawing on his bottom lip and looking frantically left and then right. "Where is he? I have to find the boy before it's too late. He should be here."
Morgan thought quickly and gently grasped Angelo's hand, saying in a low even tone, "Let's go look over here."
Angelo followed Morgan as he made his way another block down the street and the shelter came into view. Angelo jerked his hand from Morgan's and ran into the building.
"Son of a b***h!" Morgan growled when he stepped on a board and felt a piece of glass push through his toe.
Punching in some more numbers, Morgan looked to see Angelo looking in one room and then
another.
"This is Finn."
"Finn, it's Morgan."
"Who's phone are you calling me from? Where's yours?"
"Finn, I don't have time for explanations. I need you to get one of the guys and drive my truck to the shelter."
"What the hell for?"
Morgan could feel his frustration level rising. "Because I told you to. Now just get your ass here with my shit."
"Oh, I will make sure you get your s**t," Finn said with a devious tone.
Morgan screamed, "Don't you dare let Jett drive my f*****g truck, Finn."
Morgan listened but there was no sound on the other end. Pulling the phone back Morgan yelled,
"Finn. Damn it, Finn!"
Shit, that fucker was going to let Jett loose on his baby. Hearing a creaking noise, Morgan looked up and noticed dust falling from the fragile ceiling.
As quickly as his bare feet would allow, Morgan got to Angelo and moved him just as pieces of the ceiling came crumbling down.
"What the hell? Where the f**k―Morgan, what's going on?" Angelo asked sounding completely confused.
Morgan squeezed Angelo tightly to him. "Oh thank God! You're back. I am so damn glad you're back."
Angelo gasped and wiggled, causing Morgan's c**k to harden immediately. "Baby, you really need to settle down, this is not the time or the place."
Angelo rasped, "Can't breathe."
Morgan immediately loosened his hold. "Sorry, baby."
Once Angelo settled, Morgan asked, "Do you remember your vision?"
Angelo looked around and then his eyes went huge. "The boy!"
Daytona rushed in behind Ethan as Ethan asked, "Is Angelo alright?"
"I'm fine, but there's a boy somewhere in this building." Angelo wiggled until Morgan reluctantly let him go.
Morgan turned as he heard a loud revving engine and screeching tires. The sound of a door slamming shut as Jett yelled out, "That was f*****g awesome. Did you see how the back end fishtailed like that? s**t, I damn near hit Day's truck."
Morgan pursed his lips and looked at Finn's smirking face. Everyone always thought Finn was so quiet and stoic, but Morgan knew that man had a real devious side to him when he felt the urge.
Apparently Morgan had given him the urge.
Jett tossed Morgan's keys at him saying, "Good look, bud. I think you might have the Bieber thing going for you. Well, if you were white, with cutesy hair, and could sing. I've heard you sing, and you aren’t no Bieber." Smiling wide, Jett said, "But, I at least like you."
Zev walked in with Morgan's clothes and handed them to him. "Here, Morgan. Now, someone want to tell me why we're all here?"
"Angelo had a vision," Morgan explained as he stripped his pants and began to dress.
A low growl was heard from next to Ethan. Morgan turned to see a very pissed off Angelo, and grinned. It was nice to finally have his mate confirming, for him, that Angelo at least felt the pull.
Ethan turned to Angelo, asking, "What was this one about?"
Angelo looked around, saying, "There's a young boy here. I saw him right here, Ethan. He looked about fifteen or so. I could have sworn I've seen him before, but I don't know from where.
There's another boy with him, a little older, but nasty mean, Ethan. He was another Jinx."
"Who's Jinx?" Morgan asked.
Angelo ignored him and said, "We don't have time, Ethan. We have to find him. The boy wasn't alone. Levi was with him."
"Levi's dead, Angelo," Day said with disbelief.
Shaking his head, Angelo said, "I don't know how, Day, but I saw Levi with that child."
"Okay, Angelo. We believe you. Now we need you to think about what you saw. What was around them when you had the vision?" Ethan asked softly.
Angelo took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "There is a bunch of boxes that are charred and have water dripping on them. It smells musty and familiar."
"The basement!" Day yelled.
Everyone rushed to the stairs, taking care of the fallen debris. Angelo and Morgan got down there first. Looking around, Morgan saw something hooked to the fuse box, against the wall.
Then there was a moaning behind the door next to the charred boxes Angelo had spoken about.
Rushing to the door, Angelo tried to turn the knob, but it wouldn't budge. "It's locked."
"Out of my way, babe," Morgan said as he took a deep breath and brought his hand out. Large scales formed from his hand to his elbow. Morgan balled his fist and punched the door next to the knob. Wood shattered everywhere as Morgan ripped the door open.
Angelo rushed into the room to find a boy laying tied up and gagged on the floor. When Morgan went to lift him, there was a loud click.
Day screamed, "Everyone out! Everyone out now!"
Jett, Zev, and Finn, took off with Day, carrying Ethan, Angelo running closely behind them.
Morgan rushed up the stairs with the boy in his arms. As they were just rushing through the exit, a loud explosion ripped through the shelter.
