“What’s wrong?”
“Hmm?”
“You look miserable.”
Kelsi sighed.
Her morning training with Liam had just ended, and that was the only thing planned for today. Now, she was back to being purposeless, and the thought of it was making her glum. Liam apparently noticed.
“You need help with anything?” she asked him with a desperate smile. “Anything I could assist with?”
Liam took one look at her face and laughed.
“That again?” he asked. “Didn’t our underboss assign you anywhere yet?”
“Nope,” she grumbled. “Aki told me to pester you guys for a job. He’s a little busy, I guess. He’s still at that same meeting from yesterday.”
“He went with the boss, right? Hmm… I wonder what it’s about.”
“I don’t know. He wouldn’t tell me either. It must be important since it’s taking two days.”
