They went deeper into the forest. The trees were getting thicker and the undergrowth was getting denser. There were small grass-and-dirt-covered hills and rock formations around them, and the air was filled with a pleasant combination of the earthy smell of damp vegetation and the sweet scent of unseen flowers. The soft ground beneath Kelsi’s feet became more uneven so that she had to concentrate more on where she was walking rather than where she was heading.
