“Aki?” she asked in surprise, a little disoriented. “What are you doing here?”
Aki, unable to control himself anymore, full-on burst out into laughter.
Huh? She looked around and embarrassment replaced her disorientation when she realized where she was. She had fallen asleep on her chair, inside the surveillance control outstation, in the middle of Dan’s training.
Aki had arrived at some point. He had dragged another chair and sat next to her sleeping ass in front of the monitor-filled wall, laughing at her. The soldiers inside the room appeared to be engrossed in their work, but some of them were smiling with Aki; she knew they had all noticed her falling asleep.
Her face burned up with humiliation. She quickly turned to her other side to face Dan.
“Dan, I’m so sorry!” she apologize
