FIVE MATES ?

CHAPTER 3: ASHEVILLE

Michael’s POV

“Damn the luxury of this place ! But this dorm sucks big time”, Lee hissed as his eyes darted from the dirty white walls to the closely packed beds in the tiny room with a long corridor separating the 12 beds equally at each side.

“Did you notice the silver spiked fences along the school’s perimeter ?”, I asked as the very thought of those monstrous hurdles touching our skins sent shivers down my back.

“They will either kill us with their rules or with those spikes”, Jacob huffed. 

“If this was not enough torture, we can’t even fool around with the girls ! The best of the packs must be here and we can’t even do anything about it !”, I exclaimed completely pissed off. 

The player in me was absolutely furious.

“Sigh ! I really hope Stone is able to get us out of this messed up place sooner”, Jacob said, laying his back on his cleanly done bed.

“How can they fit 12 beds in one room dude ? I wonder if there is any night that goes without fighting here. Not everyone is from the same pack in this room”, Lee said.

“Well, the rules clearly say that violence is not allowed. Don’t know how these people manage”, I shrugged.

“Well, you can always bend the rules”, came a voice from behind. “Sup guys ! I am Xander Anderson, son of Alpha of Crystal Blood Pack. I see we have newcomers in our dorm”, he smirked as he fist pumped with each of us.

I instantly liked him. He was surely a cool Alpha and definitely, a major heart-throb of the school. I had a feeling that we were going to be best friends- if we stayed in this hell of a place, my subconscious added with an imaginary smirk.

“Well, I am Michael and these are Jacob and Lee of the Diamond Heart Pack”, I introduced ourselves.

“And I am Bryant Dixon, son of Alpha of the Moon Shine Pack and Xander’s best friend”, chuckled an absolutely gorgeous dude with deep green orbs and a crew cut which made his sharp features look even more gorgeous.

The bodies of the two Alpha males infront of us screamed of sexiness as their upper chests showed numerous battle scars just above their well-toned 8-pack pecs as I watched them pull out their football jerseys and put on their V-necks. 

Although Jacob, Lee and I have a fair share of battle scars on our well-built bodies too, it was pretty impressive to see that the other packs did not back down from training their princes to become formidable warriors instead of letting them feed on the luxuries of their family’s wealth.   

“So guys, let’s come straight to the point- how do we get out of this place as soon as possible to get back home ?”, Lee asked with utmost seriousness as if we were in a business meeting and running out of time.

Lee was just like his father- never beating around the bush.

I shook my head at his straight forward nature and chuckled to myself.

However, I must admit, although Jacob and I are the best warriors of the generation in the pack after Alpha Niyah but Lee was the most rational of us all.

He always had every single detail worked out with utmost calm and we were sure that he would make an ideal Beta for the pack.

Suddenly the room erupted into ungentlemanly-like hysterical laughter as the previously stern looking, noble dudes were rolling on the floor, clutching the sides of their abdomen, trying hard to reply but miserably failing to do so as their laughs got louder when Bryant mumbled something.

They groaned as their sides ached from laughing and it seemed they were not going to stop anytime soon.

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…. DUDEEEE !!!!!! THIS-IS-THE-FUNNIEST-THING-I’VE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE”, Bryant managed to squeeze out in between his shrieks of laughter.

Xander was also crying out tears from laughing so hard, leaving us, the Shadow Gang boys in bewilderment.

Bemused, Jacob gritted between his teeth, “You have no idea what the Shadow Gang can do”, only to make the Alpha males roar even louder in laughter.

“What’s the matter guys ? Am I missing something ?”, smirked a highly well-built warrior with the most dashing looks- a dangerously hot chick magnet, if I must add.

“Sage, check this out ! Someone has the guts to get away from Asheville”, Xander breathed out somehow.

“So you must be the newcomers from Diamond Ville. No wonder these d**khead roommates of mine seem to be so amused. By the way, I am Sage Rexter, Alpha of the Silver Bow Pack and Room Monitor of our room”, he grinned.

Wait a minute ! Did he say Silver Bow Pack ?

That’s just not f*****g possible !

But when I looked at Jacob and Lee as shocked as me, I was sure that I had heard the right thing.

Alphas of the Crystal Blood Pack, Moon Shine Pack and Silver Bow Pack staying together and that too best friends ????

My head suddenly went into a dizzy.

“How come you guys get along so well ? I mean the history of your respective packs does not exactly provide for cordial relations between your packs”, Jacob blurted out as shocked as me.

“Yeah ! That’s curious. The previous Alpha and Luna of the Silver Bow pack were killed in Moon Shine Pack’s territory”, I point out amazed.

“That’s right and the Grand-Luna of the Moon Shine Pack had a former alliance in marriage with the Alpha of the Crystal Blood Pack before she ran away to the Alpha of the Moon Shine Pack and became his Luna !” Lee said in bewilderment.

There came a deep sigh from behind as Lee finished narrating the scandalous event in one breath. 

We turned around to see the source and to our great surprise, we saw one of the most exotic looking men with ripping out muscles approaching us. 

He was taller than all of us but lean in a good way. His muscular and perfect body were not hard to miss while his face was like a Greek God’s who must be the Lord of the Seas.

He was surely an attractive beast with the most glorious dark hair and deep blue orbs. His eyes were perfectly shaped just like a fish’s and his square jaw gave off a cool vibe off him.  

“Not the Grand-Luna of the Crystal Blood Pack but of the Ocean Spirit Pack. She had 2 marriages before she ended up with the Alpha of the Moon Shine Pack”, he said.

Now that's some news, I thought.

“And why the f**k are we talking about our Grandmas and Grandpas and their f*****g scandals ?”, he added irately.

Sage calmed him down, “Jace, be nice to our new roommates. They are just curious. No harm done. Guys, this is…”

“Jace Cohen !! The Great Guardian of the Blue Opal and future Alpha of Ocean Spirit Pack !”, Lee spoke excitedly.

“How the hell do you know everything Lee”, Jacob wailed.

“Yes, that’s me- Jace Cohen”, Jace smiled his most dazzling smile making me wonder if his smile alone could make girls go crazy for him other than his looks.

“So, you guys wanna slip out of this place”, he smiled again with a tinge of amusement in his eyes.

“Yeah apparently we burnt down our school at Diamond Ville and we were sent to this f*****g place. Now, we wanna get out of here ASAP and get back home”, I said in a matter of fact voice.

“I want you guys to know one thing- Rules matter a lot here and technically, you always have to be on the right side. Otherwise things get really ugly and it is very hard to get any respite”, Sage warned us.

“What is so scary here that everyone seems to be lecturing us about the rules ?”, Jacob asked.

“Well, first of all, it is the rigorous punishments which involve Wolfsbane and Silver and secondly, the worst is Stella”, Xander said.

“Stella ? That petite framed woman ? Really ? You got to be kidding me”, I scoffed.

“Now that they say it, I realize now that Stella did not smell like an ordinary werewolf. She must be a halfblood- something very powerful flows in her blood”, Lee said thoughtfully.

“Yes, she is a hybrid. She is a vampire too and a powerful one”, Jace said.

“And to answer your question-”, Sage said looking at me, “Stella simply pushes you into the Red Room for 10 whole minutes if you break the rules.”

“What is this Red Room ? Why is everyone so scared to go there”, Jacob asked, curiosity brimming in his entire being.

“The Red Room can’t be explained”, Bryant smirked. “But we can show you what it is !”, he winked.
