07| Fainting in His Arms

Arabelle was still shaken, but she still complied with Alex's order to meet him in the office on the second floor, the same floor as their room. This time Renha did not accompany Arabelle, she waited outside and made sure no one broke in during the conversation. Arabelle stood in front of Alex's desk, which was filled with stacks of files. She was just bowed in silence with her mind filled with the unpredictable accident in the palace kitchen earlier. The sharp gaze with a creepy grin that she saw was stuck in her head. Alex snapped his fingers, snapping Arabelle out of her reverie. "Sorry, Your Majesty." She said regretfully. "There are only two of us, you can just call me by name." "But, Your Majesty..." Alex got up from his chair and walked over to the window. "Come one, say Alex. Just Alex, please." Although hesitant, Arabelle finally complied. Calling the king, who was also her Master by name, was not impolite if they asked for it themselves. "So, what is it that you called me here for, Your- I mean... Al?" Arabelle said with a trembling voice. After seeing what happened in the kitchen, she was scared just by being around Alex. Given what Ramisha had said, Alex's embodiment in Wolf form must be much more terrifying than the teenage girl before. "Al, hm? I love that." Alex leaned his head against the window frame with a smile on his face. She stared at Alex's tall body. He was so focused on looking down through the window. There was both fear and curiosity stuck in Arabelle's head, it seemed impossible that an almost perfect figure could turn into a monster. A monster? After getting such good treatment, it felt wrong to call them that. Arabelle was really confused and filled with fear at the same time. "Come here," Alex held out his hand for Arabelle to come closer. Arabelle obeyed and took Alex's hand with some hesitation. "Can I ask you something?" Alex asked. Arabelle nodded, "Anything you want. You already bought me." Alex raised her chin, then he looked at the eyes that had a different color intensely. From the beginning she had been very curious why it was so difficult to read Arabelle's mind. Every time they looked at each other, not a single shadow crossed. He didn't know what Arabelle was thinking, it was like she had put up such a strong barrier. "Why did you agree without thinking about it at first?" Arabelle pulled her hand out of Alex's grip, then looked out the window, which immediately presented a beautiful view. There is a beautiful lake, which was quite far from the main palace. Alex stroked Arabelle's unique hair. The jet black side of her hair reminded him of his own fur when he transformed into a wolf. "Someone said that you can read other people's minds easily, you can find the reason why I agree." Arabelle pointed at her own head. "I wish I could, but I can't," Alex said. That admission made Arabelle turn her gaze away from the window, "How so?" "I don't know. Maybe you blocked the way." "So, you can't read other people's minds if they don't want to?" Alex folded his arms in front of his chest, "It depends on the person's defense. So far, you're the only one." Why is that? Arabelle frowned in surprise. Just hearing about the ability to read minds and erase memories still surprised her. She wanted to deny it, but they weren't humans. So, it was no wonder that they had extraordinary powers. "So, tell me why?" "You're my Master, My Lord and My new king. There will definitely be consequences if I refuse your orders, Al." Arabelle replied languidly. "Hey, you good?" Alex got a little bit closer to her face. "I- I'm... I'm fine, don't worry..." she said. The dizziness that she had been holding back was getting worse. Arabelle took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly with her hands holding the window frame. Alex looked at Arabelle again to make sure, "You look so pale since earlier. Are you sick?" Arabelle shook her head. "So, w-hat do you want me to do?" "We'll talk about that later. Come, sit down first," Alex led Arabelle to the sofa. He wrapped his arms around Arabelle's body. He could feel her body shivering. Arabelle's footsteps slowed down as the dizziness in her head increased. Then, a second later, Arabelle finally lost consciousness. If Alex had not held her weight, Arabelle's head would have hit the floor hard. "No, no. Hey, wake up." Alex patted her cheek lightly, "Come on wake up," Alex pushed his hair back, he looked so confused, "Shit." Arabelle did not respond. Without wasting any time, Alex hurriedly picked Arabelle up and carried her to the room to immediately get an examination from the palace healer, the physician. Renha, who was faithfully waiting outside the room, was surprised to see Alex carrying Arabelle in his arms in an unconscious state. "Oh no... my Lady. Your Majesty, what happened to her?" Renha followed behind the king. "Call a healer, hurry!" Alex ordered. Renha left obediently. As for Alex, he immediately took Arabelle to her room. Then, he laid her on the bed carefully. Alex looked at Arabelle's peaceful face with her eyes closed. A second later, Alex grabbed the ends of her hair, "I want you to cut your hair." He whispered. Alex stroked that beautiful face, "Come on, wake up. It will take a lot of time to figure out how to use you properly," he said to himself.
