Chapter 5: Quite An Entrance

1296 Words
Vel’s POV “Excuse me, who are you?” The professor said. “You made quite an entrance.” Everyone’s attention was all on him and I couldn’t help but notice how handsome he was. I know that I have seen his face in photos already, but it's way different in person. He’s more handsome and charming-looking now that I can see him this close. I can’t help but notice how the girls in the class looked at him in awe. He’s attractive, I know, and girls would definitely fall for that look. I mean, he was wearing designer clothes and shoes too; one would definitely take a second look at him. I returned to my seat and heard whispers from all over the classroom. What now? Is he famous or what? Why do I feel like everyone knows him? Today is just the first day of school. “See?” The girl in front of me told her seatmate. “I told you that he’s going to be in this class. Oh, I am so excited.” “This is really my lucky day,” The other one said. “I can’t believe that I can still get to see him often. I thought that after our senior high school days I would never be able to see him again.” “Yeah, I thought so too,” The other one said. “I am just glad that he chose to study here. Oh, look at how handsome he is. Do you think he has a girlfriend?” “You know he doesn’t have a girlfriend, right? He just plays and has some fun with girls, a typical happy-go-lucky playboy as they say.” I can’t help but figure out that he was the one they were talking about earlier when I arrived. Oh, they must be his classmates in senior high school. A playboy? Well, that is probably why his parents don’t trust him and want me to report everything that he does while he’s on campus. “I am Dale Ian Sanders,” I turned my attention back to him when he started speaking. Even his voice definitely sounded handsome and authoritative. You know, a voice that people would listen to when he speaks, I find it hot too, and I know I am not the only one who thinks of that, as I saw everyone stop talking and giving their full attention to him.  “I am a first-year college and I hope to get along with you all.” And the brute even had the courage to wink at the girls who giggled shamelessly. Wow, as if our professor wasn’t there. What an ass! Isn’t he ashamed of the professor? He should at least respect her and not fool around like that. “Class, quiet!” Our professor said. “Mr. Sanders, please find a vacant seat and settle down so we can start today’s lecture. Anyway, don’t be late again; I hate it when students come in late. I’ll include it in your grading system. Understood?” “Aye, aye, ma’am,” He said with a hand salute, and looked in front of him, probably for a vacant seat. There was no other vacant seat except the one beside me. My heartbeat was faster when I saw how his eyes lit up when he saw the empty seat beside me. Oh no, no, why do we have to sit together? I know that he doesn’t know me and the fact that I am going to spy on him, but I still feel guilty about it. I feel like if he’s close to me, he’ll find out who and what I am doing here. I sighed when he finally sat beside me. I felt my body tense in his presence. I should just calm down, right? I mean, he doesn’t know anything and to him, I am just his classmate.  I didn’t look at him. I pretended to be listening to our professor and looked straight at the board. I saw the girl in front of me giggle and turned around to greet him. “I’m glad you chose to study here, Dale,” One of them said. “Uhm, do I know you?” Dale said with a confused look. “I mean, did we go out together before?” Oh, what an ass, really. How come he would ask her that? Is he usually like that? I mean, would he just ask every girl who knows him if they had been out before? Does that mean that he has been with a lot of girls that have already forgotten their names? Urgh, that is so annoying. “Oh, how I wish,” The girl giggled and I couldn’t believe what she just said.  “I’m Arri, we used to go to the same school in senior high,” “Oh, Arri, right,” He said and pretended as if he just remembered her. I was pretty sure that he had just talked to her now and that he didn’t know anyone with that name before. “Your name sounds familiar. I must have encountered you before. How silly of me to forget a beautiful woman’s name.” I heard the girl blush at his flowery words. Seriously? Would girls still fall for that trick? It was obvious that he had just made that up. “So Arri, are you free tonight? Do you want to hang out with me?” He said and winked. “Of course,” Arri said and giggled. “Later then,” He said. “Later,” She said. She then turned and listened to our professor who was talking in front. Jeez, they know that I could hear them, right? They were literally flirting in front of me! “Tss,” I muttered. “What was that?” I heard Dale say. I thought that I said it softly and that no one heard, but I was wrong. “What did you just say?” He said as he played with his pen; I can see from the side of my eyes. He stopped playing with the pen and faced me. “What is it?” I bravely faced him too. “Nothing,” I said. I shouldn’t argue with him. I need to keep a low profile from him if I am going to be spying on him. I don’t want to get on his bad side. “Are you against the idea of me going out with her?” He said. “W-What?” I said. What made him think of that? I don’t care about them at all. I was just annoyed at how girls act at guys like him. I mean, not everything is about how a person looks, right? They should at least choose the guy who they want to be with wisely and not be content with playboys like him who wants nothing but to have fun. “Why? Who do you think I should hang out with?” He said. “Perhaps, you?” And he even smirked at me! What the hell? “Of course not!” I said a bit loudly as some of the students turned to me. I bowed and didn’t say another word. “Is everything alright there at the back?” The professor said while looking at me. “Yes, ma’am,” I said and apologized as well. I saw from my peripheral vision that the brute beside me just laughed silently. How dare he ask that? He is just so full of himself. I take back what I said earlier; that he’s handsome, attractive, and charming. Now he’s just a guy who thinks that everyone wants to sleep with him!
