Chapter 3 At some point during the night the hallway has been cleared away and Eduardo has disappeared. All traces of him disappear, even his toiletries. The staff is on tenterhooks, doing their best to keep out of my way and speaking in whispers should they happen to be in my presence. There’s no need, however. The almighty argument I had with Eduardo purged my anger and a good night’s sleep has restored my energy. “Eggshells are difficult to walk on,” I say to the staff when I have gathered them together in the kitchen. “Therefore let me remove the need for it.
