"By all means." Melinda opened the door and motioned for me to come in. "Please excuse the mess, I wasn't expecting company."
"It's fine," I gave her a warm smile as I walked in and sat on the sofa. It was a typical apartment where you walked straight into the living room.
I watched as Melinda went to the little kitchenette on the side. She pulled out 2 glasses before grabbing a jug of water out of the fridge and filling the glasses.
“Here you go." She said as she put the glasses down on the coffee table, one in front of me.
"Thank you," And waited for her to sit down.
"What is this all about?" She sat and studied me.
"It's about your sister and what happened three years ago," I watched her face go blank. "I’m sorry to bring up the past…" And then her face went extremely cold.
