After work, Agnes went straight to the Jenkins’s.
Howard Cowell, the housekeeper, came up and greeted her a little reluctantly: "Miss Gilbert."
"What did you call me?" Agnes raised her eyebrows meaningfully.
Howard was bewildered for a moment and quickly said: "Mrs Jenkins."
Agnes gave him a smile, and asked: "Has Ryan come back?"
"Not yet." The housekeeper hesitated: "Would you like me to give him a call?"
"No, that’s okay. I'll wait for him."
Agnes went to watch soap opra. She had only watched half an episode when there came the sound of a car engine from the yard.
Thinking that it was Ryan, Agnes went out to greet him.
