At noon, Miranda and Agnes were having lunch in her office. Nick rushed in and started to question Miranda.
"Miranda, how could you arrange for Flora to work at the front desk?"
Agnes retorted before Miranda could answer: "It’s you who said Flora would be my right hand. How can she help me if she doesn’t start at the bottom and learn things?"
Nick's face fell and said angrily: "Learn things? She can learn things in any department! I’ll teach her personally."
Agnes complained grumpily: "Dad, why don't you teach ME personally? Who is your daughter, me or Flora? "
Miranda had long been unhappy about Nick's partiality. Now that she saw Agnes being upset, she got furious.
