Elijah’s POV
I managed to make her change, I expected this kind of behavior when I forced her into getting married to me. I didn’t have much of a choice, I wanted her to fall in love with me, I wanted to take her on first dates before we have our first kiss, it wasn’t my plan to barge into my home, to threaten her family. I would do anything to make her forgive me, to make her see past what I did to her.
There were something's that were beyond my control, if I could change the way I met her, I would have.
One day, she will understand why I got married to her, why I forced her, one day she will see how much I love her, how much my heart cherish her, one day she is going to forgive me.
“Smile.” I muttered against my breath. She turns to me, giving me a fake smile, she looked cute.
I was anxious having her meet the family, I didn’t want her to meet them. I don’t want her to be tainted by my world. She is perfect. She is too innocent to be in my world. I glanced at her with a fake smile on her face, my mind wanders off to the first time I saw her she was six. The second time I saw her, it was two years ago. She wore a green dress, I can still remember like it was yesterday.
“Don’t talk to anyone unless I do.”
“They are your family.”
“You have no idea who they are?” I whisper. I take her hand in mine, I let out a breath walking out of the room.
“Father.” I smile, he looked happy seeing me with her. I told him a lot about her.
“You must be Aria.” Father smiles. He takes her aback when he hugs her, she quickly warms up to him and hugs him back.
“Father don’t scare her.” I smile. I didn’t let her hand out of mine, I walked her toward the dining room, it was filled with my family.
My uncles, my aunts and most importantly my dearest stepmother, she is only alive for one reason. I noticed she glared she gave Aria. We walked toward her.
“This is- who is the wh*r*, son?” She says interrupting me.
I clenched my jaw when she says that, I noticed how aria shifted uncomfortably when she says that.
“Celine.” Father warns. She gave me a tight smile.
“This is my wife Aria.” I smile, I am proud of showing her off, she is nothing like the women I have met, I don’t think she can recall meeting me, she was quite young when she met me, when her father started business with me.
She has no idea the secrets of her family, I don’t wish for her to find out either, I will shield her from the horrors of the world, from the truth that will harm her.
I place my hand on her back as a form of comfort,
“Can we have breakfast?”
Uncle Mike whispers something to Marcus who smiles, he looked at Aries like some piece of meat, I should have known bringing her here is a huge mistake. Father wanted to meet her badly, and it is a tradition to have breakfast a day after the marriage with the family.
She sat beside me,
“I’m sorry.” I whisper.
She was about eating when I heard an annoying voice, one I could recognize from any part of this world, Serena. The woman my stepmother wanted me to get married to.
I did sleep with Serena a couple of times, but it was nothing but a mistake, she wanted a relationship, something I can’t offer. I had to push her out of my life.
“What is she doing here?”
“She is family.” She smiles.
She walks toward us with a fake smile, she wore a dress that looked like a second skin on her body. I groan in annoyance just by looking at her.
“Is this your wife? I was hoping you could do better.” She says.
“B*tch I look better than you. At least I don’t need heavy makeup and tight dresses to gain attention from men.” Aria says.
A smile appeared on my face.
“She can’t speak to me that way.”
“She can, and she will, she is my wife. If I were you, I would be quite.” I threatened. I wanted to say more, but I would rather not scare Aria.
Serene seats beside me, the breakfast started off good. I noticed Aria wasn’t eating much, she would have to eat after we leave.
“If we are done, we can get going.”
“We don’t even know much about your wife, what does she do?” Marcus asks. “She could be a model with those legs.”
I glared at him, my hand touches my gun. He instantly goes quiet.
This is my family, filled with perverts and killers. The only person who loved me was father, I watched my mother kill herself, I watch a woman marry my father forcing him into this marriage, she is alive for only one reason, and she knows why. We all hate ourselves, I know they would poison me in the blink of my eye, but they were scared.
“Aria, wait for me outside.” I say and she nods.
“I will walk her.” Serene says, and I roll my eyes.
“You don’t have to.” Aria says before walking out rudely. I didn’t miss how Serena looked shocked at how she spoke to her.
After she left. I take out my gun, pointing at Marcus.
“I came here only for my father. I won’t hesitate to kill any one of you, f*ck the rules I will kill family.” I threatened, they know I don’t threaten unless I am going to do it.
“Are we clear?” I ask, and I earned a nod from every one of them.
“You are doing a lot for that who-“ serene was about to say. One stare from me was enough.
“I won’t be coming back here with her.” I muttered against my breath.
“Just like your father, always threatening family, what are a mafia king.”
I was about speaking when I hear a fragile voice.
“You are a mafia king.”
