Catherine was observing everything very keenly as Carlos and Samuel got down from the car.

Samuel opened the rear door and out came grandma Lia, she was elegantly dressed and as usual was looking very cute. She was smiling at everyone who were outside waiting for them.

Samuel carefully held her hand and walked her inside.

Grandma Lia went past  Catherine ignoring her and went towards Ted and hugged him.

“Teddy, I missed you a lot, how have you been? Grandma Lia said cheerfully with tears in her eyes as she was meeting Ted after long time.

“I am fine mother, I'm really happy that you're back, I hope everything is fine in San Martin with uncle Simon and aunt Adel.

“Yes, yes they are all fine, in fact they are planning to move to Dublin after a few weeks. So you will be able to see them pretty soon. 

Great! Ted said happily.

Grandma ma Lia turned around and looked towards where Carlos, was helping Mia to get down from the car.

“Teddy you will love Lauren, your daughter in law. Grandma Lia whispered in Ted’s ear.

Ted observed  a five foot five inches tall, with long, curly black hair that somehow wisped up and away from the heart-shaped beauty of her face, challenging jade green eyes and a certainly very smooth complexion with soft sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of her nose, her lips full and sensual. The leanness of her obviously physically fit body was shown to advantage in a smart tailored business suit and a silk blouse, the same jade-green colour as her eyes.

 But somehow Ted felt some resemblance as he watched her.

Catherine on the other hand was busy observing the new member of the household. She is really very pretty. She thought but somehow she resembles a lot like Mia. But she is definitely not Mia, Mia is dead and her eyes are jade green, while Mia’s were very dark.  What an irony. Carlos has married Mia’s look alike.  She was greatly amused, and something flickered in her eyes.

Carlos held Mia in his arms lovingly and walked together towards his father.

“Dad it's so good to see you, meet my wife Lauren.” Carlos introduced her smilingly.

Ted was still shocked as if he had seen a ghost because Lauren had a little resemblance to Mia. He immediately pulled himself up and extended his hand saying, “Lauren, it's so great to have finally met you, I'm really happy for you and Carlos. I was a little bit disappointed in him. though that he did not tell me about it, in advance and got married secretly. But I'm happy for both of you. Welcome to our family.”

“Hi dad, it's so good to have finally met you, I’m really sorry that we did not inform you earlier as it happened all of a sudden. It was love at first sight and within a fortnight we got married. Please forgive us, for not informing you earlier as it happened suddenly. Lauren came and kissed him on his cheeks.

“O! you silly children, it’s okay, if you are happy and in love what else do I want. It doesn't matter how you got married but we will definitely throw the reception here, as everybody should know that Carlos has finally given up his bachelor status.” He grinned and tuned towards Catherine and said. “Catherine come over here and meet our daughter in law.” 

“Lauren this is my wife Catherine and your mother in law.” Ted introduce them both.

I smiled as much as much as I could and came and hugged her saying, “Mom, it's an honour to have finally met you, I've heard so much about you. Carlos has been praising about you all the way from San Martin.

 I moved at an arm’s length  and looked at her saying,”  you are so beautiful and how well you have maintained yourself ! I've seen you in the cover pages of business magazine but this is the first time, I've met you personally. I hope you will accept me in your family mom.” I stressed and spoke very carefully and looked at her with sincerity in my eyes.

Catherine somehow was taken aback and was thinking this can’t be Mia at all she was a very frightful girl,  she would have never come and hugged me like this. Anyways who cares she is already dead. But this one seems to be a little witty. I need to be very careful around her.

But the fact remains that  Carlos has married her instead of my daughter. So, I can’t be good to her but who cares they will all be dead soon. Catherine smeared.

She gave her brightest mile and said, “ Lauren I was a little disappointed, when I heard that my son got married without informing me but  now that I've met you, I can see that you are really pretty and no wonder Carlos is hooked to you. Welcome to our family. I hope to get along with you. Oh! why are we standing here talking, let's all go inside the chefs have prepared delicious food for your homecoming, so we better not let it go for a waste.”

She held Lauren’s arm and took her inside while Carlos followed behind with Samuel,  giving a sigh of relief.

Ted held his mother’s hand and questioned her, “Mother, she resembles Mia a lot, so did Carlos get married to her thinking that she was Mia or because she was her look alike?

Grandma Lia looked at her son and said. “Teddy don't worry you son is not foolish, I know Carlos did not fall in love with her because she resembles Mia. He just fell in love with her at the first sight, while she had come to decorate your aunt’s house for my birthday, she is a successful decorator. She runs her own boutique in San Martin with her Sister Myra. Don't think too much, I have thoroughly investigated. I know her family and Mia has left us for quite some time now, let her rest in peace and be happy with her memories. Carlos is happy and has moved on in his life. Just trust me, everything is going to be fine” Grandma Lia squeezed her sons’ hand and pushed his wheelchair inside the house.

“I trust you mom, only you.” Ted said with satisfaction.
