JOHANNA WALKED through the hallway to the Red Room not much later. She felt a little light-headed and the pad in her underwear already felt quite wet, but those were minor inconveniences. Oh, to be able to walk normally without feeling like a sea cow on land!
When she entered the room, she caught a snatch of discussion—it seemed to be about money—before everyone fell quiet. “I’m sorry for the delay.”
