Aurelia’s eyes fluttered open from her slumber as the sun’s rays shone brightly through the terrace’s curtained entrance. It’s beams glimmering through the portiere’s luxurious sheer fabric demanding her attention. That was the best night of sleep that she had since her father’s death.
“No nightmares, night terrors, or astral wanderings!” Amerie excitedly announced. Her words made Aurelia smile happily at the fact. “It was our mate, Evie. He kept his word that he would keep us safe. You know it was the protection charm he had procured for you that kept the darkness at bay last night.”
Aurelia peered down at the moonstone and amethyst encrusted, gold band around her right hand’s ring finger and watched as the sunlight danced and reflected inside the gemstones.
