Ch 4: In Which The Alpha Gets Serious With Her

684 Words
When the car came to a stop at its final destination, a rather average house greeted Heather’s sight. She was surprised for she had expected something more… extravagant from the renowned alpha Damien. Sure, it was not exactly small, far from it, but it couldn’t possibly be a pack house. “This is my house. You’ll be staying with me,” Damien stated firmly from where he sat next to her. “Like hell I will!” Heather exclaimed. “Mind the way you talk to our alpha, or else…” the beta whose name had still to be revealed began in an angry tone, only to be cut off by Damien’s deadly “or else what, Kevin?” “Yeah, do tell Kevin.” Heather’s sassy mode was full on. Maybe it was her lack of sleep that contributed to her irritation. She couldn’t say for sure, but she couldn’t keep her mouth shut for the life of her. “Do tell what awaits me if I dare disrespect your damned alpha. I can’t wait to know.” “My, my, my, what a feisty Luna you are,” Damien observed half-amused. “Oh, don’t start with your Luna bullshit again.” She told him, feeling her eyes heat up, and realizing that for the first time in her short life, they had changed pitch-black out of anger. She, the ever patient, the ever gentle she-wolf, had been driven to the edge of wanting to shift and fight over simple words… aggravating words, they may be, but words nonetheless. Being mates with Damien didn’t make Heather immune to his powerful aura. Only instead of whimpering out of fear whenever he let it out, her insides flipped happily, danced merrily, and white hot desire pooled at her secret entrance. She didn’t even like the guy but already she was feeling attracted to him. Could it be because he had touched her all through the ride? Or was it simply his proximity that made it impossible for her to have a decent thought roam her mind? “Are you gonna be Luna, Heather?” Lilly asked, her eyes shining. “No” was the hissed response she got from her sister, and “Yes” from the man who was sitting next to her. Heather watched as her sister looked confused between her and her damned alpha mate, her eyes darting between both werewolves a few times, before yawning, seeming to forget about the matter at hand in favor of laying her head against her sister’s chest, immediately finding sleep. “Now, here’s the deal my sweet Heather,” Damien started in a very business-like tone, “You will be my mate and live under my roof together with your sister, and you won’t be treated as rogues.” “What if I refused?” She argued right back. “We are not rogues after all,” She told him evenly. “If you refuse, I will be sure to make your life a living hell by first separating you from your dear sister…” he began, only to be interrupted by her distressed, “You can’t!” “I can, and I will if you don’t obey me,” he told her sternly, looking her straight in the eye, waiting for her response. “Fine!” She let out resigned after a while. “Good girl!” He exclaimed before trying to hug her only to be rejected by her cold demeanor. “You know what happens to misbehaving little girls? They get punished. So be sure to behave. Both your lives are at stake here.” The seriousness with which he spoke made a shiver of pure unadulterated fear run down her spine. Damien was handsome as hell, but he was as ruthless as the rumors had said he was, and not just when it was pack-related.
