Apologizing

I arrived home early. I wrote a report on what happened with the rogues. Just as I finished, there was a knock on my office door.

“Come in,” I called. Manny, Alondra, Ray, Jake, and Trisha walked in with Tara, Ivory, and Karen. I arched an eyebrow at them.

“I thought it would be better for us to bring them to you” Jake said, and I nodded.

“What happened today at school?” I asked. I had already seen the video so I knew what had happened.

“That girl started it. She attacked me. She’s jealous of us”, Tara said.

“Y-yes, she attacked Tara and ordered her to stay away from you” Karen stuttered.

“You’re telling me that Angel ordered you to stay away from me?” I asked Tara, who nodded her head, looking at the ground.

“Y-yes. She then said she was going to give her a small lesson of what would happen if she didn’t” Ivory added. My sister scoffs before she burst out laughing, followed by the others.

“Is there anything else you want to add?” I asked them.

“Our pack is not safe around her. She’s dangerous and I can’t bear the thought of losing you”, Tara added. I looked at my sister to see her shaking her head. Maybe some time in the dungeons would help them understand what they have done.

“Alondra, Trisha, Ray, can you take them to the dungeons? They are to be there for two days without water or food”, I said.

“What? But baby, she was the one who attacked us and I’m your girlfriend”, Tara shouted. I got up and walked towards her. I saw her eyes widen for a second before she relaxed.

“Actually, Tara, this is where I’m going to end things with you. There is no us any longer because I have found my mate, plus you three attacked my mate, your future Luna-”

“But-”

“I’m not done speaking” my voice boomed, making them whimper and bow their heads in submission “I saw the video and watched you attack first. Angel just defended herself.” I then opened the door to my office for them to leave.

“Oh, one more thing, next time you think of attacking my mate in any way shape or form, you will be banished from my pack” I said. I watched Trisha, Alondra, Ray, Manny, and Jake leave the office and walk out the northern pack house towards the dungeons. I needed now to go see my mate and fix things between us. I went out of my office and ran to the tree line. I went behind a tree and undressed. I tied my clothes to my leg and shifted to my wolf. I then took off as fast as I could to my mate’s house. I can feel Xan trying to take over. He has been angry with me since I accidentally ordered our mate. It was an accident and I’m on my way to make things right.

As I got closer to my mate’s house, I heard a little grunting and panting. I slowed down, making sure she didn’t see me in my wolf form. I see my mate punching, kicking, kneeing, and elbowing a tree that’s padded. Sweat is dripping from her forehead and she has a thin layer of sweat all over her body that makes me want to lick it off. I don’t know how long I had sat there and watched her but the sun was starting to go down and she hadn’t moved to eat or drink anything. Maybe I’ll go back home and get my car and take her out for dinner.

‘That would be nice. Mate needs to eat’ Xan said for the first time in hours. I backed up, then turned around and ran home. It doesn’t take me long to get home. I quickly dressed and ran inside the pack house to grab my keys and wallet, but I was stopped by mom.

“Son, is everything okay?” she asks. Mom speaks perfect English, but when she gets angry her accent comes out. My dads love her accent. I looked at mom and sighed. I hadn’t told my parents I had found my mate.

“I found my mate” I admitted.

“That’s great son. When are we going to meet her?” mom asks.

“Right now I’m trying to make things right” I said, making mom furrow her eyebrows in confusion. My grandma Yashira joins us.

“What do you mean you are trying to make things right?” grandma asks.

“There was a fight between Tara, Ivory, Karen, and my mate. I didn’t realize it until the end, but I accidentally ordered my mate to let go of Tara, though she fought my command”, I said, scratching the back of my neck.

“Yes, we have been hearing about this fight. It seems like your mate can handle herself” grandma says.

“Is she a rogue?” mom asks.

“Yes, and no. I can smell her wolf, but I can also tell she hasn’t shifted yet”, I admit.

“It’s rare but some wolves shift at their eighteenth birthday. How old is she?” mom asks.

“She’ll be eighteen soon. I don’t know exactly the date. She’s very closed off about her life”, I told them.

“Bring her to the barbeque” grandma says.

“But she doesn’t know about our kind? I need to ease her in on it”, I told them.

“Bring her to the barbeque. Maybe she doesn’t know many people and is afraid to open up and we can also know who she is” mom says.

“Okay, I’ll tell her I’ll pick her up on Saturday” I said. I turned around to leave. When grandma’s voice stopped me.

“Wait”, I turned and looked at grandma only to see her walking away from me. A couple of minutes later, she returned.

“Give her this when you apologize” grandma says, making my eyes widen.

“A blue rose from your garden? Wow grandma, it’s beautiful, thank you”. I kissed her cheek and mom’s cheek before leaving. I drove to her house and when I arrived I walked to the door and knocked. A few seconds later, she opens the door. Xan slams into the front of my head to see our mate.

“I’m sorry for earlier” I blurted out, handing her the beautiful blue rose grandma gave me. She looked at the rose, then looked at me and sighed in defeat. I could tell she wanted to be mad at me but couldn’t. She took the rose and stepped to the side, gesturing for me to enter. I stepped inside and turned to her, only to see she was wearing a t-shirt and red boyshort underwear. I could feel my eyes slowly darkening.

‘Mate, mark mate’ Xan growled in my head.

‘I want that as well, but we have to wait until she’s ready. We don’t want to scare her away’, I told Xan, and he began to calm down. My mate walked past me.

“Sorry, I wasn’t expecting company” she said, walking to what I assumed was her room. She grabbed some shorts and quickly put them on.

“I’m sorry about earlier. Please don’t be angry with me”, I pleaded.

“I don’t know how you got my body to try and obey your order, but don’t do it again. I don’t like to be ordered around like some puppet” she gritted out.

“I won’t do it again. I’m sorry. Please forgive me”, I pleaded, looking at her.

“Fine, I forgive you” she said. I couldn’t help but lunge at her, pick her up and twirl her around, making her laugh. I love the sound of her laugh and I want to hear more of it for the rest of my life. I stopped twirling her and slowly put her down, and it didn’t go past me how good it felt to have her breasts pressed against my chest. We were so close that I could kiss her sexy, full lips, but she stepped back.

“What happened earlier at school?” I asked, following her into the kitchen. It smelled amazing whatever she was cooking.

“Nothing I couldn’t handle” she said. I knew she could handle herself, from what I saw in school and earlier in her backyard.

“I know you can handle yourself, that was clear, but Tara, Ivory, and Karen are saying that you started the fight” I said. She turned and looked at me.

“ Have you had dinner yet?” she asked.

“No” I replied truthfully. She turned back around and grabbed another plate, then handed it to me. She then grabbed two cups and filled them up with iced tea, handing one to me. She grabbed her plate and walked to the living room.

“You have known Tara, Ivory, and Karen for a while, right?” she asked.

“Yes, we all grew up together” I admit, and she nods.

“So, what did you think when they told you that I started the fight?” she asked, then ate a potato.

“That they were lying” I replied truthfully. She looked at me as if she was looking for something, then nodded once.

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“I’m sure. I’ve known them since we were small and I know that Tara can be a troublemaker. Ivory and Karen just followed her. Now you, I can tell you like to stay to yourself and I thank you for spending time with me and my friends. But today I saw that you have a lot of anger inside of you and I don’t know why, but I want you to know that you can talk to me about anything, whenever you want”, I said.

“You’re right, I didn’t start the fight. Tara attacked me first and I defended myself. Ivory and Karen also tried to attack me, seeing that their friend was in trouble”, she admitted. I nodded and took a bite out of the chicken and moaned at how good it was.

“Wow, this is good” I said, making her smile. It was really good. She grabbed the remote and handed it to me.

“You can pick a movie” she told me. I looked through the movies and decided on watching ‘Underworld’. We finished eating and paused the movie briefly to take our dishes to the sink and my mate grabbed a blanket. We then sat back on the sofa and continued to watch the movie. When the movie finished, I stood up to leave even though I didn’t want to, but I also didn’t want my mate to get in trouble for having a boy in the house when her parents weren’t around.

“Would you like to watch another movie?” she asked before I could turn to the door.

“I don’t want to get you in trouble when your parents show up” I said, looking out the window. When I looked at her I saw sadness in her eyes before she masked it.

“My parents aren’t coming home tonight” she said. I nodded, then sat back down on the sofa.

“You can take off your shoes if you like so you can be more comfortable” she said as she looked for another movie. She decided on the second part of Underworld. We went to the kitchen and looked for snacks. We got some popcorn, M&M’s, and soda. We then went back to the living room to watch the movie.

‘Mom, I’m with my mate watching some movies at her place. I don’t know what time I’ll be back’. I linked my mom so she wouldn’t worry.

‘So, it seems like everything went well’ She links back.

‘Yes, please tell grandma I said thank you for the rose. She loved it’, I said through the link.

‘Okay, have fun. Love you’ she linked back.

‘I love you too’ I said before closing the link. We ended up watching four of them and halfway through the fifth one we both fell asleep.
