LYLA'S POV
I looked up to see the devilish look on Georgina's face. “Do you actually think I was going to let you have him?” She said it with anger. “I have waited all my life to be the Luna of this kingdom. I even had to kill. She took a deep breath and paused. “You are just a nobody, and you are going to die as one.”
The words were harsh, and I could feel my throat burn. I needed to have some water. “Can you please get me some water?” I pleaded as I looked at the little bottle of water she brought along with her. At this point, it didn't matter any more if I died or lived.
“Do you think you deserve some water? I can't believe the moon goddess would pick some low life over me.” Georgina laughed
“I am sorry; I should have agreed to any of this. Thorn is all yours. Please let me go this time.” I fell on my knees and pleaded.
“Too late. Do you think Thorn is going to forgive you for killing his father? I wouldn't forgive you either. All you have to do is eat your last supper and wait for your execution because you are not escaping death.”
The word death scares me. Why do I have to die? I was a nobody; why does the moon goddess push me down this path?
“What do you want?” I managed to say the words even though it hurt my pride. I was a drowning woman who would clinge to anything just to survive. “What do you have to offer? I doubt you have anything that I would be needing. Your death is just what I actually needed.” Georgina said again
I heard the sound of the gate to the man's cell open, and I ran back into darkness. Thorn slowly walked towards the cage and looked at Georgina. “You were with her last. Did she tell me that she would be killing my father? Did you plan this together with her?” He asked with anger.
My heart raced; I have never been involved in political battles. I was just an omega that wants a life of fulfillment. A small mansion to call home and a wolf-loving husband that would dot on me every time. But I was in the middle of something more that would cause my death.
“I didn't do it. Please believe me.” I said coming out of the shadow. “Believe you? You came into my home to murder the Alpha of a whole kingdom, and you want me to believe you? Who are you working with? Who asked you to kill him?” Thorn shouted
I froze and ran back. My eyes slowly went to Georgina. I wanted to point at her, but I don't know if I should be scared of Thorn or Georgiana. Either way, I was going to die.
“Well, I don't need Yiu to answer that. He is going to help loosen your tongue.” Thorn finally said, and I saw a man walk with all sorts of torturing instruments.
I felt the ground should open up and swallow me whole. I felt scared, alone, and petrified.
“I didn't do it; you need to believe.” I don't buy my pleas fell in the deaf ears of Thorn.
Georgina grinned as she placed her comforting hand on Thorn. “She killed him. I wonder why your father would have agreed to this marriage. To some commoner, a lowlife,“ she said with disgust.
The gate to my cell was flunged open, and I was dragged out to Thorn’s front.
“Would you like to leave?” The tall man that looks like a giant asked, staring right into Thorn's face. “No, I want to hear her say it. I want to know why she would kill my father.”
I was immediately strong to the cell pole as I cried my eyes out. “Please," I shouted each time, but the words were falling on deaf ears.
The first whip landed on her back, and I shouted in agony. I felt my skin tear from it. Thorn sat down with Georgina by her side as they both stared at my face. “Please, I am going to confess," I shouted as the lash of the second whip landed on my back again.
Thorn looked at the man and asked him to stop. “Yes, I knew you were going to talk. I am all ears.”
I looked at Georgia again, not sure of what to say. “She was with me. She gave me a drink, and I felt dizzy. When I woke up, I...” I stumbled with some words. “Are you nuts?" Georgina shouted in anger. “You killed him, and are you trying to tell him what?” She said angry.
Thorn looked at me and said, "WWhen I am done with you. You are going to tell me everything that I need to know.”
He went back to his seat, and without being told what to do, the lash fell on my back again, and I screamed in agony.
I suddenly felt my back go numb and I fainted. The man stopped and looked at Thorn. “Drag her back to her cell and make sure she is not given any food.” He stood up and walked away, with Fiona trailing right behind him.
My eyes darted open as I watched him and Georgina walk away. “Why do I have to go through all of this? Was this my fate?” I thought to myself as tears flowed freely out of my face.
The gate was closed behind me as I lay on the cold floor of the dungeon. The pain in my heart is greater than anything. I had no reason to kill the Alpha, but it looks like Thorn was not ready to listen to me. He wanted me to take the blame simply because he didn't want me for his Luna. I was a nobody, an orphan.
I felt the gates to the cell open once again, and I managed to crawl back into the darkest part of the dungeon. “Please, I didn't... I..”
‘ I believe Lyla, I had come to set you free,” the voice said slowly opening the cage to the dungeon.
