CHAPTER 2

THREE DAYS LATER

HANNAH'S POV

"This way ma'am," Nick, my personal bodyguard instructed.

"Sure,"

My red heels clicked on the pavement as I walked towards the house. Fall was fast approaching and I had decided to wear only neutrals and red.

"What is going on?" I asked Nick when we passed the front door. Normally he would just leave me to go to my room after a school day.

"Follow me Hannah,"He said kindly and I rolled my eyes as I followed him closely from behind.

"Surprise!" My mum and dad shouted as soon as I walked into them and my heart skipped a beat. I wasn't expecting that. Weren't they supposed to be out of the country?

"OMG!" I gasped as I looked around to the fully decorated backyard with a white and black theme.

"Mom and dad, you didn't have to do this,"I told them as tears of joy threatened to form at the slit ends of my eyes. Finally, they have decided to be better parents.

"What do you mean? Tomorrow is your 16th birthday and we wanted to surprise you," My mum said as she came to hug me tightly.

"Thanks mum," I whimpered and wiped my tears of joy as I allowed the moment to sink in. They have really changed for the better. They have finally decided to make me their priority and this melted my heart.

"Wait until you see what I have bought for you. This is not all that we have planned for you,"My dad jested.

"There is more?" I looked around in confusion and excitement.

"You should see what we have bought for you. "My mum held my hand and we followed my dad to the other side of the garden.

"Am I dreaming?" I screamed once I saw a turquoise Bugatti Chiron tied with a black ribbon being presented to me as my 16th birthday present.

"Do you like it? If you don't I will get you something else that you will love,"My dad said anxiously

"What do you mean dad? I love it!" I said before rushing to hug him tightly.

"Thanks dad and mum,"I said as I allowed tears of joy to fall from my eyes.

"Anything for you Hannah,"They assured me.

"Here are the keys, go for a test drive,"My mum handed me the key.

"Yees!" I screamed in excitement as I rushed to my dream car.

I placed a kiss on the car keys before getting into the car.

My parents stared at me with a wide smile as I carefully secured the seatbelt.

I was checking the music system when a deafening sound of a fired bullet broke the eerie silence scaring the hell out of me.

I quickly looked up and my eyes popped out in shock when I saw my mum lying on the ground. Her white dress was heavily soiled in fresh blood.

I wanted to jump out to save my parents but my dad gestured to me to stay quiet. An ocean of tears fell from my eyes and I bit my lips so hard to prevent myself from making a sound.

I helplessly watched as a man in a black hoodie and attire placed a gun on my dad's head. He said a few things to him before pulling the trigger and blowing his brains out.
