Aaron’s POV “Zara, did you find anything out for me?” I asked her as soon as she came into my little cabin. She had been easy enough to convince to help me. I figured out quickly that she wanted Alex. All I had to watch the pack from a distance. She came and went a lot. I followed her around anytime she left and caught her at the mall and made my move. She wanted Alex and would go to any lengths to get him. She was easy to manipulate, as well. All I had to do was tell her that Alex stole my mate and I wanted her back. It was easy to convince her to help. All she had to do was get me information. When the time was right, I would kill her. She was just another pawn in this, like Sam’s dad was. He did what I wanted him to do, and they even killed him for me, bad part was they also were able to rescue Sam at the same time. They used magic, as did I, but I knew if I stayed I would be killed. I tried to shoot Alex, but Sam took the bullet for him and that’s when I left. “Of course, I found stuff out.” “Well, want to tell what it is?” “As soon as you tell me how much longer I am going to have to put up with her. I want to start a life with Alex.” “Not much longer. Now tell me what the f**k you found out.” I was getting irritated with her. I may have to kill her sooner than I planned. “She had your kid.” “Excuse me? Did you just say she had my kid?” “Ya. Apparently, when Alex took her from your pack, she was pregnant. He brought her to his pack and I know he sent her away, but I am not sure where and that’s where she had the baby and gave it up for adoption.” “How do you know this?” If she really had my kid and gave it up, I would kill her slower than I had originally planned. “While she was in surgery from your gunshot wound, I went to the doctor’s office that was doing the surgery, hacked his computer, and went through her records. All it said was pregnancy one and live birth one. Since I have never seen her with a kid, I assume she gave it up for adoption.” “You need to go back and find out where she went, so that I can find out where my child is.” I all but growled in her face. “I will try, but Alex is barely speaking to me right now. He is too focused on Sam. I need her out of my way.” “You need to go back and find out where the f**k she sent my kid.” “Ok, chill. I will find out.” She turned and walked out of the cabin. She better not come back without any information. I would kill her if she didn’t. It’s been three weeks and I have yet to hear from Zara. I can’t reach her by phone and I have yet to see her on pack grounds. I don’t know what happened to her, but I need to figure it out and I also need to figure out a way to get Sam so I can find my kid. I’ve waited long enough. I packed my s**t and left my cabin. I found my little hiding spot in the woods that I used when I stalked Zara. I made my camp and set in for the long haul. I didn’t know how long I would have to wait, but I was a patient man. I had watched the pack from a distance. I watched as Sam seemed to do better and better each day. I noticed they had two children with them frequently. From what I could tell, they were taking care of them. I’m not sure if they adopted them or if they are just fostering them, but I wasn’t going to let that stop my plan. My chance finally came. I watched her load the baby into the car. She had her gamma with her and that was it. I shifted into my wolf and raced to where I had my car hidden. Jumping in naked, and sped away, hoping to catch up to them. I found them in town at a furniture store. I waited in the back of the parking lot for them so they wouldn’t see me. They were in there for just a little over an hour. She came out pushing a stroller and looked happy and healthy, and I hated it. She didn’t deserve that. I followed them to the mall and parked where they couldn’t see me again and waited what felt like for hours. I grabbed some clothes out of the back seat and got them on while I waited. Once they finally came back out; they had their arms full of bags and the stroller was loaded with them as well. I watched them load the car. When they drove off, I started following them. I stayed back until they got on the mountain roads and were heading to the pack house. I got closer and closer and I knew that the gamma knew I was tailing them. I rammed into the back of them, but he managed to keep the car on the road. I was going to have to do it again and harder this time. Maybe at an angle. I hit the gas and slammed into the side of their bumper and the car hit the edge of the road and the rolled, landing right side up. I jumped out of my car and to the passenger side. I tried to rip her door open but it wouldn’t budge, so I punched the window out and reached in and started pulling her out as she tried to crawl into the back. As soon as she was out, she started fighting, but I was bigger and stronger. Wrapping my arms around her and dragged her back to my car. I opened the back of my SUV and reached in and grabbed the syringe that way laying there. I quickly jammed into her neck and within seconds, she stopped fighting me. I threw her in the back and tied her up, just in case she woke sooner than I was ready. I could hear another car coming, so I slammed the back shut and ran to the front and took off. I took off and could hear her body being tossed around in the back. I was heading back to my little cabin. I just had to get far away from the wreck site. Driving through the mountains as fast as I could. It didn’t take long, and I had another SUV tailing me. I pushed the limits of my car and the mountain roads. They tried to push me off the road, but no such luck. It took me a while, but I finally pulled into the cabin and jumped out of my SUV, ready for a fight. “What the hell are you doing, Aaron? We had an agreement.” Alex yelled at me. “I never signed anything. She is mine and will always be mine.” Alex shifted and jumped at me as I shifted as well. We collied midair. We went rolling on the ground and we were both snapping our jaws, trying to get them to sink them into each other. I turned my head, trying to get a hold of him, and it gave him the split second he needed to get his teeth into me. His teeth ripped through my neck. I fell to the ground barely breathing and I could feel the blood pool around me. He shifted back and walked to my SUV. I laid there watching him take Sam out and put her into his SUV and then drive away. My life was slipping away. I was getting weaker and weaker. I just had to hang on until Elias showed up. He was the witch friend I had and was supposed to meet here to help me transport Sam else where. It took me a solid six months to heal completely and another year to regain to use of my voice, but during that time, Elias helped me. He took me back to his coven, and they helped me as much as they could, but it still took a long time. Elias started in on the search for my kid. After Alex almost killed me, I decided that I would not go after her any longer, but I would find my kid and when the time was right, I would take him and we would then attack. It took us five years to find him. I was going leaving Elias coven to go meet my kid. His adoptive parents didn’t have any idea about me. From what I learned to according to records, she told them the truth about what happened, but I will tell them how much I loved her and how she was lying about everything. I plan on telling them that I don’t want to take their kid away from them, but I want to be a part of his life. Maybe a fun uncle until the time is right. “Elias, are you sure you don’t want to come with me?” I asked him, getting into my car. “I’m sure, man. I need to stay here. Don’t be a stranger and when you're ready to come back, let me know. I’ll be here to help.” “I will.” I told him as I got into my car and drove away. I would have a couple of days’ worth of driving. They lived on the other side of the country. Their pack was in Connecticut and we were in Wyoming. I arrived in Connecticut three weeks ago and found their pack pretty easily. I spent time in the surrounding areas watching the pack. They seemed to be a pretty mild pack. I never saw any attacks, but they did do a lot of training. They were prepared for something to happen. I made my move on a Tuesday morning. I walked right up to the gates, and the guards came out with their defenses raised. “Can I help you with something?” The man asked. “I am looking for the Alpha.” “Who are you?” The second man asked. “My name is Aaron. I have personal business with him.” I could see his eye glaze over and when he looked back up to me, “he said he will meet you out here and that you are not allowed to come in.” I stood there waiting for a few minutes when the man I saw each day out training come out. “I am Alpha Matthew. What do you need?” “Thank you for coming out. My name is Aaron and my mate was Samantha. I believe you may have adopted my son that I didn’t know about until a few years ago. Can we talk in private?” I could see the instant fear on his face. He was afraid I was going to try to take him from them. “I don’t want to take your son away from you, but I would like to speak to you.” He motioned for the gate to be opened, and I walked inside. We walked in silence up their driveway. He took me to his office and when we walked inside, his wife was there, waiting with tears in her eyes. I walked in and sat down. “Please allow me to explain things. I want to start off by saying that I do not want to take your son away from you, but you were lied to. The things that Samantha told you were not true. This child was conceived in love. I loved her so much and she broke my heart when she left me and I couldn’t find her. After she had him, she came back and rejected me and took a chosen mate with a man named Alex. I let her go and didn’t find out about your son until later. It took me all this time to find you guys. She never would tell me the truth. All I am asking is to be a part of his life, in any capacity that you will allow.” They stared at me like I had grown two heads and for a long time. I could tell they were mind linking with each other and that was fine. I would wait. “Aaron, this is something that we need to discuss with each other. Korbin, your son, doesn’t know that he is adopted and to be honest with you, you two look identical. We will allow you to meet him later. We would like to talk to him first.” “Thank you, both.” “I have Kennedy on her way up here and she will show you to a room. Please stay there until we come retrieve you.” “Of course, and again, thank you.” A knock sounded on the door, and a young, beautiful woman walked into the room.
