Rati POV:

After talking to the doctor, I came to terms with the best way I could about the pup. I need to tell James and find my mom's body. I am pissed off, hurt, guilty, there are so many emotions Tina and I are feeling. And to add insult to injury, this asshole decided he wanted to ask the doctor if I could still have pups. How f*****g dare he ask a question like that? If he thinks I am going to mate with him, he has another thing; coming mate or not. I can’t even look at him right now. Deciding I had enough, I got up and walked towards the exit to find James and my mom's body. As soon as I stepped out of the f*****g tent, Mike grabbed me, and I lost it.

“LOOK ASSHOLE, I HAVE HAD A SHITTY DAY. ALL I WANT TO DO IS GO TO JAMES AND FIND MY MOM's BODY, AND YOU NOR ANYONE ELSE IS GOING TO STOP ME!”, I yelled in his face.

“LISTEN HERE, MATE! IF YOU THINK I AM GOING TO LET YOU SEE ANOTHER MALE, ONE WHOM YOU USE TO f**k ,YOU HAVE ANOTHER THING COMING. AND THE NAME IS MICHAEL, MIKE, ALPHA, or MATE; BUT NEVER ASSHOLE”, he said as he had a death grip on my arm. I have to admit his touch feels kind of good.

“WELL, MICHAEL, MIKE, or ALPHA, IN CASE YOU DIDN’T NOTICE, I JUST LOST MY PUP AND THE FATHER IS SOMEWHERE HELD CAPTIVE IN HIS OWN PACK HOSPITAL. HE HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND I NEED TO FIND MY MOTHER BODY”, I yell as I snatch my arm away from him.

“Rati, you are wearing nothing but a t-shirt and shocks, I can't let you walk around like that. My wolf goes crazy. I will help you find your mother's body and if talking to James will bring you closure and peace, I will take you to him. But make it short, say what you need to say because it will be your last time talking to him”, he said in a calm town. I love the way he says my name, but I wonder how he knows it.

I nodded in agreement and we walked toward the hospital. And I try to catch a whiff of my mom’s scent but I can’t smell her. As we walk, I take a lot around the dead is being but into a mass grave prepped to be burned. I didn’t realize Mike was walking so close to me until I looked around and noticed my pack members looking at me with disgust. My heart hurts thinking they believe I am with the man who destroyed our pack. Even if he is my mate, this action will not go unpunished nor will I forget what happened today. Once the hospital was in sign, I ran into in. Sniffing for James, I find the room he is in but the guard out front won’t let me in.

“Let her in”, Mike said.

They let me in and I attempted to run to James until I was yanked back into Mike's rock-hard body. I lowered my head in shame. How am I going to tell James about our pup? When I finally get the courage to look at him, he is staring at my stomach, then it hit me is trying to hear a heartbeat. I started to cry as I watched the realization show on his face. He was and he is shaking like he is about to shift.

“YOU BASTARD WHAT THE f**k DID YOU DO TO MY PUP!?”, he roared, which didn’t faze Mike.

“He did nothing, James…..he actually saved my life”, I said as Mike let me go and I slowly walked to James and hugged him.

“Can you give us a minute”, I asked James.

“NO! and you are touching him a little too long for our liking”, Mike said.

“I am so sorry, baby, I lost our pup. Had I known I would have left, like you told me, it is all my fault”, I broke down and cried.

“No baby, it's not. It’s my fault. I should have told you the moment I found out”, James said as he rubbed my back.

“Why didn’t you tell me…James”, I asked, still crying.

“I was going to tell you tonight, as well as some other information. I thought it was time for you to know”, he said as he kissed my forehead while Mike growled.

“It doesn’t matter anymore, as you know. Mike is my mate. He won’t accept my rejection. James, you are a good man and I know the Moon Goddess will bless you with a second chance mate”, I said to him with sorrow in my heart.

“Baby she already has”, he said, looking at me.

“WHAT?!”, Mike and I both said. I forgot he was still there and, of course, he is listening.

“Baby, you are my second chance mate and I am yours”, he said, with a tone I had never heard before. It was a mixture of excitement and pain.

“THAT’S A f*****g LIE”, Mike growled, walking towards us. I jumped in front of him to stop him from getting to James.

“You wouldn't dare attack a man who can’t fight you back because he is chained up. You are a f*****g coward”, I spat at Mike.

“James please explain”, I said, looking Michael straight in the eyes. He makes one more move to James. I swear I will die trying to protect James.

“When you came here nine years ago, I was attracted to you. You were only fourteen but my attraction to you was strong, a little too strong for my liking. I thought I was turning into a pervert. Every time I saw you my d**k got hard. Worried, I went to see a witch who told me that you were my second chance mate”, he said, holding my hand.

James goes on to explain that the witch told him that I would not know that he is my second chance mate until I either my first mate dies or accept my rejection. He also explains why my mother and I were allowed our own house and why, when I turned sixteen, I was sent to the Harem to learn how to please him. Everything he said made sense. Now I understand why Tina and I were able to fall in love with him. Usually, wolves won’t fall in love with anyone but our mate. Then it hit me that I literally have two mates and I might not have a choice about who I end up with.

“Well, to solve OUR problem I will just kill him and be done with it”, Mike says as his eyes turn red, his wolf wants out and wants out now.

“YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HIM!”, I yelled in his face.

“Give me one good reason why I should”, he demanded.

“Rati, stop you are making our mate angry”, Tina pleaded.

“No! Tina, he wants to kill our other mate”, I said angrily.

“And why would I let him live?”, he asked.

“Because if you do, I will submit and be your mate and Luna”, I whispered.

“WHAT NO!..... BABY DON’T DO THIS, I CAN CHALLENGE HIM FOR YOU ONCE I AM FULLY HEALED”, James screamed, trying to get out of the silver chains they put on him.

“Ha….ha…you can try and die”, Mike laughed at his response.

“Listen here, pup, give me a month and I will kick your ass”, James yelled.

“Pup?....you are the pup. I am much older than you”, Mike said with a smirk.

“Please give us a minute”, I asked with pleading eyes.

“Sure I will be right outside the door”, and he left.
