Dinner was being kept warm in the oven.
I took it from the oven and placed it on the table in front of Dad and me.
We sat at the table and silently attempted to eat, it was just the two of us, even the staff were now in bed and most likely asleep.
Mum and my other siblings had long gone to bed, it was nearly midnight by the time we finished eating and headed up to bed.
Shower and bed. I was sure I was asleep before I had even climbed into bed. I had stripped and done my bed routine mindlessly.
The morning sun shone in the window.
I was so tired last night I had forgotten to close the curtains.
I was still exhausted and did not want the day to begin yet.
