MALLERY’S POV — My eyes are still closed when I stir, slowly waking from a sleep that has my body aching. My nails scratch against the linen as my fingers curl, my hands fisting and opening again as I loosen my muscles. I feel stiff, my one side hurts so I turn onto my back, a headache forms when I turn too fast. I slowly pry my eyes open, the light not as bright when my eyes open.
