MALLERY’S POV — “I’m back,” Jace beams as he walks into the door, smiling softly like he’s worried. His gaze flicks to Elion at the end of the bed, “What are you doing?” He asks baffled, “I told you I was looking after her.” Elion deadpans, he looks offended. “I didn’t think you’d hold out for so long,” Jace shrugs with a grin on his face. I think it makes him happy to see me and Elion getting along. “She’s not that bad,” Elion shoots me a teasing look, and I roll my eyes as I climb off the bed. “Did you get it?” I ask Jace, changing the subject. “Yeah,” he slides it out of his pocket and I inch closer, holding out my palm and he hands it to me.
