Emilia's Pov
l tried to run after Alex and explain everything to him, but the oracle's words stopped me from going further.
"Let him be, and he needs time and space to come to terms with what he just found out." She looked at me with disappointment, but l could hardly care what she thought of me because the only person l cared about at the moment looked at me in disgust and hate.
"Why didn't you tell him everything?" l shouted at her. "You knew everything, so why didn't you tell him that the decision was taken from me?" l screamed at her. l wanted to take out my anger on someone.
"Regardless of who or what made you take that decision, you still went along with it, and you hid it from your mate." She said calmly. l knew she was right but my current mental state of mind refused to see reason.
l jumped up when the door opened, but to my disappointment, it wasn't Alex but Liam, and he looked worried.
"Are you okay?" He asked holding me protectively, and l let him comfort me.
The pain in my heart was suffocating, but before l could answer him, a terrifyingly looking Alex roughly pulled the door open. He pushed Liam from me and pulled me by my wrist roughly yet again.
"Alpha, please!" Liam begged him to follow us as Alex dragged me to god knows where, but l kept quiet even though he was hurting me because his pain was justified.
l fell down and bumped my head on a surface, and l embraced the pain despite how throbbing it was.
"Alex." l heard Beth say. l looked around and noticed that we were on the Alpha's wing of the Parkhouse.
"Look at your sister in the eyes and tell her that you are the reason she's sick." Alex said raising my chin.
"Alex, please!" l begged for his understanding and forgiveness. l just begged him for everything and nothing in particular.
"What are you talking about?" Beth asked in shock, but l didn't owe her any explanation.
"My chosen meet my fated mate." Alex said sarcastically, and Liam gasped in shock.
"But how?" he muttered to no one in particular. "Because your sister has been concealing her scent for years now, your sister has been lying and deceiving us for years." l could hear the cracks of hurt in his voice.
Alex was used to control, and the fact that he was stuck in such a situation where everything wasn't in his control was probably a slap in the face for him.
The worst of it is that l know he was looking forward to having his fated mate. He visited almost every Pack to look for his mate, and every time he came back, he lost hope.
"What have you done, Emilia? How could you?" Beth looked at me like she was horrified by my actions, but my nerves were short with her. It may not have been her fault, but she was still the reason why l was going through this.
"You don't get to say that to me!" l said, looking at her. It was always my fault. In everybody's eyes, l was always the rotten apple. The one who would never amount to anything in life, and l was sick of it.
Alex and Joy were the only ones who considered me something more than Beth's shadow, but l now I've ruined mine and Alex's relationship beyond repair.
"Why?" She asked, coming towards me and crouching down on my level. l heard the slap she gave me before l could feel it.
Physically, the slap didn't hurt, but emotionally, it was like a knife straight to my heart and soul. l had unwillingly done all of this for her and her happiness but she didn't hesitate or ask me why before she slapped me.
She is the only person in the world who is supposed to know me more than l know myself, but unfortunately to her, l was always just disposable.
"l hate you!" l said to her.
The hate l felt for my sister wasn't due to the fact that she had taken my mate, but it was something that manifested throughout the years. Her indifference to the way our parents treated me was the biggest factor that led us to this point, but l still hoped that someday she would try and get me or just stand up for me, but l guess that was wishful thinking on my part.
"You hate me? Why? You're the one who hid your scent, you're the one who abandoned your mate, and you're the one who chose to leave the pack. it wasn't me who forced you! You caused all of this!" Beth cried out, her face turning paler as her body attempted to lean into Alex's arms.
Alex held her up, but the way he looked at me became more and more angry and disappointed. My heart broke. I wanted to let him know all the facts, but would he still want to believe me? Even though l was having a hard time believing that Alex would ever choose me over Beth. Back then, l knew without a doubt that he would have chosen me, but now l was the woman who betrayed him.
Beth's demagoguery took effect, and she managed to turn Alex against me, which was a despicable blow.
"You don't know everything, really? But you never asked me why I left." I laughed mockingly, but was surprised to see Beth move her eyes uneasily. She was afraid to look at me, and that made me have some doubts.
"You took everyone's attention and love, and I was nothing but a worm living in your shadow! I shouldn't have to come back because I'm worried about your health, but you don't deserve all I have to give! You don't deserve it! "
I couldn't help but spit at her, and Beth slapped me again. The funny thing was no one stopped her. They all watched her bully and hurt me.
"Beth, stop!"
l heard my mother's voice coming from somewhere in the room, but the noises in the background were fading away, and my head was throbbing. l was sick to my stomach. l placed my shaking hand on my chest because my heart was aching and beating rapidly to a point where l felt like the room was moving. l tried to open my mouth and call somebody, but before l could, everything just went black.
