My feet glided over the sidewalk, hood slid off my head, and a cold mist collected on my face as I ran from the train station to the Maibe City Hall. I imagined Kinley returning to the hotel room and finding my quickly scribbled note. She would be . . . Honestly, I wasn’t really sure how she would react except that it wouldn’t be good.
