Chapter Four

1773 Words
Bidii High: Four Years Ago Sorcha took one last look at the mirror before she took in a deep breath and sighed. She smiled at the lady in the reflection of the mirror. She had done it. She was beautiful, she knew it and even Patrick knew it, if the countless number of times he used to tell her while he was whispering sweet nothings in her ear were anything. She had won the Miss Bidii high contest. The whole school knew she was the most beautiful girl in the the school. She just didn’t understand what had changed. Patrick didn’t see her as beautiful any more. He was now seeing that good for nothing Tina. She knew that they had both hated Tina. She didn’t know that Patrick’s hate would suddenly turn to love. She remembered how he had ended things with her a month prior. “I have always been in love with her.” He had told her. Sorcha couldn’t believe her ears. This was her Patrick, the dude they had grown up together. Their parents were friends, so she always knew that they would end up together. She never thought that a good for nothing nerd would come and take her man away from her. “What do you mean you have always been in love with her?” Patrick sighed and decided to open up. He had already approached Tina a week before this official break up. They had talked about everything and nothing. He loved the period he had spent with her. He had even asked her to be his girlfriend. She hadn’t said yes yet, he was sure it was because she was scared of Sorcha. He had told her he would break up with Sorcha but he needed an assurance that she would say yes to him. she only blushed and smiled. He knew what he needed to do, and that had led him to this day. He had picked the wrong day, but he needed to do this. There was no any other day that he would do this. Graduation was getting close and he didn’t want Sorcha graduating out of school thinking they were still an item, that’s why he needed to do it urgently. “Sorcha, you know you and I, we never really loved each other, we only did this because we thought we were perfect for each other.” He had told her. Sorcha’s heart broke into a million pieces, she wouldn’t believe he was saying that. Yes, she did feel the same way too. She always felt like Patrick would fit perfectly in the friend’s zone but that didn’t mean the breakup had to be an easier one for her. She knew she preferred the moments she spent screwing Christian more than the moments she spend screwing Patrick but she didn’t appreciate the fact that he was leaving her for that social climber. I mean everyone knew that her mother had been a gold digger, and they always say, like mother like daughter. But Patrick had already made up his mind he needed to end things. So, he broke up with her. She didn’t take the break up so well, and the remaining days of her high school she spent them with Christian getting her frustrations out. But today she had decided she was going to do something else. She was going to use another means of getting the stress out. And what any other best way than to get all her anger out on the one person who was the source of all these. Tina. Today was the day she was graduating out of school, but she said she was going to make It Tina’s worst day. She knew her group of friends had done a good job at making Tina feel unwanted in the school, if her lost sweaters weren’t a lesson enough, then she was in for more. She wanted this to be the ultimate destruction. They had planned everything. She had sent one the students to trick Tina into coming to the washrooms. She had come, innocently thinking that Patrick had requested to see her. And that was when she met the group of the three meanest girls in school. Not even their made-up faces would hide the evil in their souls. She had regretted coming to the washrooms the moment she stepped in. They had known if they sent one of them to call her, she wouldn’t have come, so they used some year one in the school. Then they had locked the door and they did all the kind of torture they could do to her. They even went to the extent of cutting her hair and tearing her school uniform with a pair of scissors. And as she ran out of the washrooms crying and looking like a madwoman, Sorcha felt satisfied. She hoped this would serve as a very important lesson for her. Now she was just staring at herself in the mirror satisfied with what she had done. Her group of friends were beside her and she had never seen them this happier before. Now she would graduate out of the school without having to worry about Tina anymore. She thought that maybe after she had done that, Tina would stay away from Patrick, but that never happened, in fact it even brought them closer and pushed her farther away from Patrick. He didn’t like her anymore and didn’t even want her in his circle of friends. He had never talked to her until that fateful night when he called asking for her help. She didn’t want to help them but they were her friends, so she decided to help them but in turn she promised to do something that would make all of them regret for ever cutting her off. She wanted Tina to be the one who paid most. Then later she heard Tina was no longer with Patrick and was now with Paul. They were perfect for each other, she had thought, she never really liked Paul so she was glad that he was the one that took that nerd from Patrick. But it seemed like Patrick had fallen for her and Sorcha had thought he would want her back, but he never did. He only used her as a shoulder to cry on and she was always willing to give in, until he apparently got over Tina and moved on. So, she had to move on too, got married to some old guy as his third wife. Her family had run bankrupt, and since she had never joined college, living a broke life was something she would never want. So, she chose to get married to some rich politician, it was never for love but she would rather live luxurious than starve in the name of love. That was one principle that she did follow to the core. But there was just one challenge in her marriage though. Her husband wanted kids, well, too bad for Sorcha because that was something she wouldn’t do. She had tried, but she just wouldn’t. They had had a very bad fight with him and she was thinking of walking out but, anytime she would think of moving back in with her broke parents, she just wouldn’t do that. Then one of the days while she was crying in the bathroom with a negative pregnancy kit, she received an email inviting her to a wedding. She hated that Patrick was moving on after the damage he had done to her. She wasn’t going to that wedding for old friendship’s sake but because she wanted a little bit of payback. There was no way she was going to watch him find happiness while she didn’t. Present She was the first one to arrive at the wedding reception. If she wanted some payback, she needed to show up early and plan her evil revenge. She had made a phone call to two of her bimbo friends who she was certain would help her in achieving the goal. Jane and Jessie, her high school friends. They had always done a good job at making Tina’s life in school miserable, and even after a part of her friends had graduated, these two held up so well in doing the job. She had expected she was going to find some luxurious wedding reception with everything to behold, since Patrick was rich, extremely rich, but woe unto her, the location that had been sent on her mail, it wasn’t a wedding reception, it was even nothing close to a place that a wedding reception could be held. It looked like some old abandoned church. Sorcha took another look at her email just to confirm that this was really the location, and it was the one, she wasn’t wrong. Why would Patrick want to hold a wedding at an abandoned old church? Growing up, Sorcha had heard of this abandoned old church, it had stories that they used to scare children from staying away from the building. She knew Patrick was a daring one, and he wouldn’t have a problem holding a wedding at such a scary place, but still… She was standing outside the building, bargaining on whether to go in or not. She let out a long sigh and decided to walk in. Just as she was heading for the door, it suddenly opened. She jumped back scared as the other person screamed. That’s when she realized who it was. “Jessie?” “Sorcha, oh my God, it’s you!” the heavily pregnant petite girl who seemed to be too small for the weight said. Sorcha’s eyes moved to the pregnancy and she couldn’t believe her eyes. Jessie was pregnant? “Congratulations.” Se said with a very heavy heart. “Thank you, are you sure this was the location?” Jessie asked and Sorcha nodded still staring at the tummy. Was she the only unlucky one? Jane already had a kid, and now Jessie was heavily pregnant. Now she was bargaining whether she wanted to involve Jessie in their stupid revenge game, I mean what could she do while this heavy? They walked in to the building and to Sorcha’s surprise, it looked good on the inside, it hadn’t been decorated yet, but a wedding was definitely happening here. They heard honking of cars outside and they quickly rushed out to check whoever it was. Two Porsche cars drove in and Sorcha stared in awe as she watched Evan walk out of one of the cars. He looked good, like rich good. He walked to the other side of his car and opened the door for a very elegant looming woman, no doubt that was his fiancée. Then from the other car, emerged Christian. Sorcha’s heart skipped a beat when she looked at the handsome looking guy. He was looking good. She didn’t expect that he would also open the door for a beautiful woman. She thought he was the only one in their group who didn’t have a partner. And Sorcha couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw who the lady was. There was no way Christian was dating such a girl. He just wouldn’t. ##########
