CHAPTER 16 – The other side of the story
Emma’s POV
I came back to the servant’s quarters. My heart started to feel lonely as I sat on the bed. I started to think that how many surprises I had to face within 24 hours. First, he handed over me to a monster and then he rescued me, bringing me back to the castle. Then, he treated me in his bed-chamber with the best medicines available to him. He fed me, applied medicine to my cheeks, and didn’t sleep the entire night.
He looked after me and he showed me his kind side. But for what? Why did he do that? Does he treat all his maids like this? No, why would a prince keep a maid in his bed-chamber? Plus, he had clearly mentioned that he didn’t want me as his mistress. Then what is he up to? Be careful Emma when dealing with these royal people.
