“Who could have done this to Lady Hildry?” Emma asked during breakfast.
She wanted to run away from me without having breakfast but I didn’t let her go. I was certain that if she left my chamber without having breakfast, she won’t be able to have breakfast and continue her work until lunch. In fact, I wasn’t sure if the maids were having their meals on time these days because they were busy preparing for Father’s birthday.
Emma was being shy because of my husky voice in the morning but I loved it.
