Chapter 8: Alpha Vs. Alpha

* Aiden Pov

    As i was saying my goodbyes to the rest of the pack that was still here i noticed i hadn't seen Eve in a while. Her scent isn't very strong in the house at the moment, hopefully she is just waiting for me outside. I began to walk outside each step feeling heavier than the last. Something was wrong. I started running finally reaching the door and i saw a couple of young men standing by the door talking. 

    "Have you guys seen Evie?"

    "We saw Luna on the path that goes around the house about 10 minutes ago."

Fuck. She is in the middle of the woods alone and no one has seen her for at least 10 minutes or so. I break out into a sprint down the path, her scent getting stronger the closer i got to the heart of the Forrest. I make it about half way down the path when i hear a cry a little ways off the path. It's her i know it is. I run towards the direction of the cry while stripping off my clothes. Wherever she is she is not alone and not with a human. This foul stench can only belong to my father. I was wondering when he was going to make a move I just didn't think it would be this soon. 

    I shift into my wolf form running twice the speed i was going a few seconds ago, I see Evie lying on the floor at the foot of an old tree and i see him chasing her in his wolf form. He breaks off into a leap aiming straight for her and i do the same, luckily for me just in time as I tackle him to the ground. I press my paws down on his neck trying to keep him in place but he started snapping at my feet trying to break me off of him. I end up taking his neck in my mouth and bite down. Hard. Not hard enough to kill him, just enough to keep him from moving. I try to look for Evie in the corner of my eye but i can't see her. I can't tell if she is injured or not but i can hear her, she's scared but she is still there. 

    Alpha where are you? Some of the boys saw you taking off into the woods for Luna?

Thank f**k Jackson is my beta, there really is none else better for the job. His father was my father's beta back when he had some sense. His father was the best of the best, and now i have his predecessor.

My father caught on that i was in the middle of a mind link and used that brief moment to through me off of him. I fly backwards unable to land on my fee in time and smack dead center into a tree. Feels like a few of my ribs might be broken. My father charges back to me trying to aim for my neck, i was barely able to get up in time to dodge him but unable to counter him. I stumble back a bit regaining my balance and facing him head on. If he want's to challenge me as Alpha then a challenge he was going to get. 

    He nips my left back leg and i am able to kick him off making him fall backwards just as i am turning back around taking his left leg with me. I bite down hard trying to tear his limb from his f*****g body but he keeps twisting and turning making me loose my grip with each turn. My father might have lost his f*****g mind but he is still one of the best fighters in the pack. He breaks free and bounces back a few feet. Before i could figure out what he was trying to do he howls and begins to shift back to his human form. 

He starts laughing like the f*****g lunatic that he is "Well played son. Glad to see you listened in your training. I'm not going to lie i thought you might have been all talk and more focused on which w***e you were f*****g. Glad to see i won't be disappointed."

    I stand firm in my spot still in my wolf form not sure what he was thinking. I felt a pair of hands touch my back and thankfully they were Evie's.

"Aiden something is wrong. Scarlet and i can sense about 10 wolves behind your father. But i don't recognize any of them."

    I look past my father trying to see what she is seeing but i can't. I don't see or smell anyone. Maybe it is the shock from everything that is happening at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised. I decide to shift back so it is easier to talk to my father. I shake Evie off and begin to shift back. My father just standing there looking like a smug piece of s**t. 

    "In case you were wondering why your backup hasn't arrived is because i have a few 'Friends' keeping them occupied while we talk for a second."

Jackson talk to me what's going on?

    Sorry Alpha! We were taken by surprise by some rouges. There isn't to many but they are hard to shake.

Understood. Be careful them seem to be working with my father. When you deal with them mindlink the council and fill them in.

    "What f**k do you want? And how low have you sunk to be working with Rouge wolves?"

He just starts laughing again. "They are rouges. For now. I know you and the council have been in talk with making me step down for quite some time now. And now that you have discovered that little w***e is your mate you have the means to do so. I figured if i just killed her and made it look like rouges did it, you would be to distraught and broken to take over. It takes a special kind of person to move on from their mates untimely demise most don't live through the heartbreak. And the few that do sometimes go insane."

    What the f**k. He just admitted to trying to murder his future Luna. It doesn't make sense, he isn't making any sense. 

"And what were you planning on doing if you had succeeded? Why do you want to remain as Alpha so much? You stopped being an Alpha the day mom was killed."

    "AH! That is the golden question isn't it? What i want is to weed out all the weak pack members and the humans that are living in town. And get rid of the f*****g useless pricks that calls themselves the council. They don't have any real pull over anyone anymore. And if you think that then you are a f*****g dip-s**t. Once i get rid of all you useless f***s i am going to recruit some of the strongest wolves i have seen. And once that is done we are going to take over every pack on this continent."

    "Why?"

I turned around to see Eve has come up behind me still shaking a bit but standing her ground. 

"Why could you possibly want that?" 

    He stepped a little closer and i instantly pushed her behind me, not sure what might set him off. He stopped a few feet away from us and slowly bent down so he was at her eye level

"Guess you will just have to wait and see. Luna"
