Chapter Six I glanced over at Grayson and saw him grimace. He finished up his text and climbed back out of the car. “That didn’t sound good,” he said. I found the car’s manual in the glove compartment and flipped back to the troubleshooting section while Grayson peered under the hood. “Any ideas?” we asked each other simultaneously. Grayson said ruefully, “Unfortunately, I’m pretty useless with cars unless they need oil, have a flat tire, or require a new battery. Or windshield wipers.” “I have the feeling none of those are going to apply in this case.” I sighed. I did an online search and winced. “Loud noises might mean problems with engine belts, heat shields on the exhaust, and other dire-sounding things.
