(Beckett)
I snapped my gaze to Hudson, watching as he sauntered into the room before eyeing me suspiciously.
"So? Who is it?" Ace asked, grinning from ear to ear as more guys began to file into the locker room.
"f**k, I bet it's that girl who ran onto the ice last week. When she lifted her shirt and I saw the number thirteen, that's when I knew it was over." Chase, one of our wingers laughed before stripping off his shirt.
She wasn't the first puck bunny to pull a stunt like that but f**k no. I would never fall for that type of s**t. That's more of Pete's thing. Then again, what doesn't that sicko like? I swear he brings a new girl home every night.
"No way, I bet Storm likes them crazy." Another guy named Sam chimed in, smiling mischievously as I swear I fought the urge to laugh. They have no f*****g idea who it is, and I am 100% sure they would never guess.
"s**t, it's not Cassidy Young is it?!" Pete chimed in, and I just scoffed. Cassidy Young is a pretentious b***h. No way in hell would I go near that. She is batshit crazy too. Probably crazier than me.
Maybe, I am still figuring that out.
"Not even close." I finally spoke, opening my locker as my gaze drifted towards Hudson.
I could tell he was pretending not to listen. But I could see the curiosity that filled him.
Can he feel it? The fact that I have Elodie's marks all over my skin? Is there this nagging sensation pulling at the back of his mind? God I f*****g hope so.
"Just give us one clue." Ace said before slipping on his compression shirt for practice.
"You'll find out this weekend. That's when I plan on making it official. After the game." I stated before slamming my locker shut as the sound echoed through the now-silent room.
"Wait, you are making this s**t official?" Ace asked, and I just nodded, grabbing my hockey stick before making my way to the rink.
I darted my gaze toward Hudson, seeing his brow furrow as a smirk pulled at my lips.
"Come on, let's get out there. I'm ready for that ass-kicking you promised." I said, walking backward as Ace let out a loud cheer.
"I'm liking this new Storm! Let's f*****g go!" He boomed, causing the rest of the team to holler right along with him as I felt my heart start to race.
I knew what was coming, and I couldn't f*****g wait. I loved getting out on the ice. The way I glide so effortlessly across the rink, analyzing every move and guessing which route the opponent will take next.
I'm right 98% of the time. That's why I make a good defenseman. But I know for a fact I would make an even better Centre.
I clicked on my helmet before stepping onto the ice, hearing the guys start to slide in behind me.
Practice usually began with warm-ups which Hudson would lead. I could tell he was already irritated just by the tone of his voice alone.
"Let's start with some suicides boys!" He yelled, making half of the guys groan as I couldn't help but chuckle. Yeah, he was pissed.
I didn't warm up with them often. I would usually join the evening practices just to go over a few plays and knew Hudson was doing this s**t just because I'm here.
"What are you waiting around for?" He shouted, making us all take off and start our sprints.
That's when I watched Hudson come up beside me, his eyes darting to my neck as we started skating across the room.
"Didn't think you were the commitment type." He yelled, making me shrug before smirking.
"I guess when you find the right one, things can change." I stated, picking up my speed a little when Hudson did the same.
"I doubt that. Guys like you don't change."
"Guys like me, huh? What is that supposed to mean?" This was actually humorous. He really was pissed off already and yet he has no clue this is about Elodie.
"You know what exactly what it means. I don't have to say it."
"I think you do because I clearly have no idea what you are talking about." I said, acting clueless.
"You only think about yourself, and I'm sure whatever girl you're using will figure that out soon enough." He said, making anger flare inside of me as I quickly turned, making ice spray out beside me as I began skating back to the other side of the rink.
"What if she likes being used? In fact, she didn't mind when it was me sucking on her neck. She even cried out my name as she did it. f**k you should've heard her." I began, making Hudson falter as he almost crashed to the ground. And that's when I was shoved up against the wall, making the glass shake.
I saw his brown eyes darken as he stared at me intently, gripping my shirt tightly as he tried to intimidate me.
"Aren't you going to ask me who it is?" I asked, feeling like I was losing my damn mind as laughter threatened to burst out of me at any moment.
Hudson gritted his teeth, the look in his eyes almost turning to panic as I could see the war that was raging inside of him. He wanted to ask so f*****g bad, but he didn't want to hear the answer.
"Or perhaps you already know." I whispered, seeing that panic turn to rage. Oh yeah, he was furious. Maybe even murderous. He sure isn't acting like he only sees Elodie as a sister.
Or maybe he thinks I'm talking about Ari. Can't be though, right?
"Careful, Hudson people are watching. You wouldn't want anyone to see what you're really like beneath that golden boy persona, would we?
"Is there a problem here?" Ace asked, skating up to us as his gaze darted from me to Hudson nervously.
"I don't have a problem. Do you?" I asked Hudson, loosening my grip on his arms as I began to relax beneath him.
He just continued to stare down at me as the hatred poured out of those brown eyes. What does Elodie even see in this prick? He isn't anything special. Besides, he doesn't deserve someone like her.
They wouldn't even look good together. Not like she does with me.
The thought surprised me as Hudson finally let go, pulling himself off of me and backing away.
"I'm good. Let's get back to work." He snapped, giving me one last glare as I swear I could hear the threat he held behind that cold gaze.
Those eyes told me to stay the f**k away from Elodie.
What Hudson doesn't realize is that I'm about to take everything from him. Not just his position as Captain. I'm going to take Elodie as well. And after I turn her against him, then there will be nothing he can do to stop me.
He will hand over the team on a silver platter and I can't f*****g wait.
Little does he know that my plan is already starting to work. Because it wasn't Hudson's name Elodie moaned out in her sleep this morning. It was mine.
And f**k did it sound sweet coming from those cherry-flavored lips.
I couldn't help but smirk as I replayed the moment over and over again in my head. The way I stood there watching her. How she didn't even flinch when I bent down, capturing her lips in one last stolen kiss.
That's when I decided not to fight this pull. No, I was going to use it to my advantage. I was going to make her fall for me.
There is no way I'm letting this prick get her when this is all over. In fact, maybe I just might keep her for myself.
